About the 401st:

The 401st Army field Support Brigade provides Soldiers, Sailors, Airman, and Marines, the tools and resources necessary to complete the mission. If they shoot, drive it, fly it, wear it, eat it or communicate with it, the 401st helps provide it. The brigade assists coalition partners with many of their logistical and sustainment needs. The brigade also handles the responsible disposition of equipment in Afghanistan to support evolving missions. We are the single link between Warfighters in the field, and working through Army Sustainment Command, we leverage Army Materiel Command’s worldwide Materiel Enterprise to develop, deliver, and sustain materiel to ensure a dominant joint force for the U.S. and our Allies.

Area Support Group Afghanistan (ASG-A) personnel were among more than 500 participants in the annual Army Ten-Miler shadow run at Bagram Airfield Oct. 4. Shadow runs are held at various locations throughout the Combined Joint Operations Area Afghanistan and in locations throughout the globe. The race is held annually in Washington, D.C., in October. Beginning as a way to promote the Army, build esprit de corps, support physical fitness, the Army Ten-Miler began with nearly 14,000 participants in 1985 and has capped at 35,000 in recent years. It is the second largest ten-mile race in the United States and the third largest ten-mile race in the world. The race generally sells out in less than 12 hours. More than a quarter million people have participated since its inception.

PANMUNJOM - With weapons at the ready, members of 194th Combat

Sustainment Support Battalion set out at dawn to conduct convoy

live-fire training here, March 25.

The fast-paced exercise exposed Soldiers to many of the real-world

perils found on today's asymmetric battlefield, culminating in a series

of drills designed to hone their skills in reacting to road-side bombs

and enemy small-arms fire.

"These Soldiers have been training for the past six months to prepare

for this day and their hard work is evident in the outstanding

performance I've seen throughout the battalion," said Command Sgt. Maj.

Nichelle S. Fails.

At times gritty and intense, the Soldiers worked in teams to zero in on

enemy targets with their rifles and machine guns.

"This scenario is interesting and very realistic," said Pvt. Jiwoo Kim,

a KATUSA assigned to the battalion.

Pvt. Dylan Florres, a battalion mechanic and one of the day's enemy

combatant role-players, sees the training as realistic and a good way to

build unit cohesion. "What we are doing is basically helping Soldiers

learn how to train safely and work as a team," he said.

"Everybody is highly motivated and ready to fight," said Chief Warrant

Officer 4 Joseph Williams, HHC, 194th Combat Support Sustainment

Battalion, safety officer. "Taking care of our Soldiers is very

important, we don't want any injuries. That's why we do risk assessments

and go over all of the details to make this a very safe, yet realistic,

training environment."

Master Sgt. Kenneth Ashley, the day's pyrotechnics NCO, described the

training as important in building teamwork within the battalion. "Here

in Korea and in places like Iraq and Afghanistan, we need to make sure

our Soldiers know how to react under fire and to ensure they are

prepared for anything the enemy throws at them."

National Guard Soldiers and Airmen from the D.C.-based 33rd Civil Support Team and the Fort Pickett-based 34th Civil Support Team trained together April 7, 2015, at the Fairfax County Urban Search and Rescue Training Site, Lorton, Va. The two-day exercise brought together the two teams as well as firefighters from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. Both units can identify chemical, biological, and radiological substances, assess current and projected consequences, advise an incident commander on response measures, and assist with requests for additional state support. The CSTs are federally resourced, trained and sustained and operates under the control of state leadership. Today's Picture tonight is of the Daylesford Town Hall in all it's glory turning pink in support of Women's Health.

From the local Hepburn Advocate

HEPBURN Shire is turning pink in support of women’s health.

The Hepburn Shire Women’s Health Working Groups are partnering with Hepburn Health Service for a promotional campaign that aims to increase screening uptake of mammograms and Pap testing.

Businesses are being called on to dress-up their shops with Pink Ribbon campaign goods, including a pink lamp, which will, at night, provide a pink glow in the shire’s main streets.

On a social media these days a video is getting quite viral. In the video, women are shouting in favor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with BJP flags and seen dancing. It is claimed that this video is Pakistan's Balochistan province.
