2011's photo of the Kinnaber Viaduct is still my highest ranking photo so I wasn't sure what I'd be able to do different on this visit. As it happens, I managed to find what I believe to be an interesting vantage by climbing onto the original stone wall at the edge of the viaduct and leaning over the side. Thankfully, the metal safety railing was able to support me properly. Had it given way...
What this viewpoint allows is a great view showing both the scale and the height of the viaduct as it gently curves over the River North Esk. Here's an alternative view, looking down to the rapids below. The owners of the viaduct have also gone with a complementary gravel path instead of the more clinical looking tarmacked paths you tend to get on most dismantled railway to path conversions.
Unfortunately, the path along the former Bervie Railway comes to an end just after the viaduct. Maybe a case could be made for running a path all the way between Montrose and Inverbervie following the former line where possible? At least the line's key feature is still being put to use.

Las Vegas, Nevada- A combined team of Joint Terminal Attack Controllers or JTACs as they are more commonly called train in the Nevada desert. The combined team is made up of JTACs from the Louisiana National Guard 122 ASOS and the 146th ASOS from the Oklahoma National Guard. ASOS, Air Support Operations Squadrons, are responsible for training and deploying JTACs worldwide in support of both conventional and unconventional combat units. The JTACs are attending Full Spectrum Operator Training provided by PFC (Progressive Force Concepts). PFC is a Las Vegas based company that provides dynamic training encompassing a three dimensional warrior concept. The JTAC students trained on weapon manipulations and target engagement drills, tactical movement techniques, combatives, trauma care and physical fitness. The training was described as “epic” by the JTAC student team attending the course. October 2011

This is a photograph from the 2nd running of the Donadea Running Club 5KM race in Donadea Forest, Donadea, Staplestown, Naas, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Friday 26th of July 2013 at 19:30. This race is part of the North Kildare Summer Running League Series of races. There was great athlete and participant support from the neighbouring clubs of Celbridge, Kilcock, Leixlip, Naas, Newbridge, and beyond. The race route is contained completely in the forest on the trail paths. The 5KM route is ran in a clockwise direction from the coffee shop at the center of the forest. The combination of a warm pleasant July evening and the wonderful surroundings make this a very unique race on the running calendar in this part of Leinster.
Donadea Forest Park is located in north west Co. Kildare close to the border with County Meath. It is about 50 kilometers from Dublin. The forest is now a very mature forest with a vast array of habitats and a lake. It is over 640 acres in size. The Park is managed by Coillte.
Well done to all of the Donadea Running Club and the local community who yet again have organised an excellent event.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: Approximately 250 people took part in today's races with runners, joggers, walkers, and families involved.
Weather: This was a warm pleasant summer's evening in the forest. The 19:30 start avoided a very heavy and prolonged shower of rain which made the course a little wet in places.
Course: This is a very well known loop of the Donadea forest. It starts at the coffee shop area near and lake and proceeds on what is locally known as the 'outer' loop of the forest in a clockwise direction. The direction is opposite to that used in the Donadea 10KM and Donadea 50KM races.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. Occupy Victoria (The Peoples' Assembly of Victoria)
Inspired by the rapidly growing Occupy Together (occupytogether.org/) movement across the US and Canada that has sprung up in solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street people’s assembly. Victoria is joining the October 15 movement for global change (15october.net/).
This is becoming more than a protest about the failure of global capitalism - rather, this a moment where people all around the world are coming together and beginning to globalize democracy.
This is our time to come together and create a genuine people’s assembly of Vancouver Island in the spirit of true participatory democracy. Direct democracy comes from the people living in the communities in which decisions are made. Real democracy means being mutually respectful of all the diverse voices that join the conversation. Radical democracy is 'from the grassroots' or from the ground up. It is non-violent, and committed to mutual aid and collective decision-making.
Here's a photo I took of 2 iPhone 4s with different clear cases on for comparison when I was trying to decide which case to bling. In the end, I went with PS cos I like the slimmer cut, and most importantly, I can still hang my handphone strap... hehe

Capital of Chiang Mai province with a city population of 148,477 (2008).The city is 700 km ( 435 miles ) north of Bangkok and covers an area of 20,107 sq km .The province has some of the highest mountains in Thailand and the city stands on the river Ping, which is a major tributary of the Chao Phraya river which runs through Bangkok.The people speak Khan Muang also known as Northern Thai or Lanna.Chaing Mai has one of the most famous temples in Thailand standing on the Doi Suthip, a hill to the north west of the city. Known as Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep this temple dates from 1383.However that being said Chiang Mai province has over 300 temples.
Also there is the National Park at Doi Inthanon, Dokmai gardens which has over 650 plant species including 120 different vegetables.There is the Elephant nature park 60 km ( 37 miles ) north of the city where many rescued elephants reside. Hillside tribe tourism and trekking which mostly involves visits to the various local hill tribes including Akha / Hmong / Karen & Lisa tribes.
Shopping is great in Chaing Mai with the local night bazaar that stretches over many main streets, side streets and shopping mall areas. On Sunday evening the handicraft and food market is held at Rachadamnoen road. Getting to Chiang Mai from Bangkok could not be easier there are up to 14 trains a day which takes about 12 to 15 hours overnight. Flights from BKK up to 28 a day and takes about one hour ten minutes. Hotels and tours are well catered for within the airport at Chiang Mai.
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is a Theravada Wat in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. The temple is often referred to as Doi Suthep although this is actually the name of the mountain where it's located. It is a sacred site to many Thai people. The temple is 15 kilometres ( 9.3 miles ) from the city of Chiang Mai. From the temple, impressive views of Chiang Mai can be seen. is the wondrous and holy temple of Wat Phra That which is located near the top of Doi Suthep ( Mount Suthep ). The temple is simply referred to as Doi Suthep by most people. Every tuk-tuk and Songthaew driver in Chiang Mai will offer to take you on the 15 kilometre trip up the winding mountain road to Doi Suthep. Built as a Buddhist monastery in 1383 it is still a working monastery today. Funds raised by donations and the lift fee go to support the monks living there and for maintenance of the various temple buildings. The architecture, statues, murals and shrines seen here are nothing short of breathtaking.
On arrival at Doi Suthep you will be in a large car park, the temple complex is up the side of the mountain beside the car park. Starting with a walk up the 300 steps of the intricately carved mythical Naga Serpent Staircase you begin to marvel at the splendour of your surroundings. For those that do not fancy the 300 step climb up to the complex, you can go up the lift for 30 Baht and walk down the staircase when you have finished. On reaching the top you are greeted with the sight of the golden spire which decorates the centre of the mountain top temple. The walls around the spire form a mini enclave and are richly decorated with historical murals and shrines. Here you find a beautiful copy of the Emerald Buddha statue on display. The real Emerald Buddha statue is now in Bangkok.
Doi Suthep mountain rises about 1000 metres ( 3,542 ft ) above sea level; there are fine views over the city of Chiang Mai to be had from the temple's lower terrace. The terrace is surrounded by large bells that are rung by pilgrims to bring good luck. On the northwest corner of the terrace is a statue of the legendary elephant who chose the site of the temple.
The monastery was established in 1383 by King Keu Naone to enshrine a piece of bone, said to be from the shoulder of the historical Buddha. The bone was brought to Lanna by a wandering monk from Sukhothai and it broke into two pieces at the base of the mountain, with one piece being enshrined at Wat Suan Dok. The second fragment was mounted onto a sacred white elephant who wandered the jungle until it died, in the process selecting the spot where the monastery was later founded.
Outside this central enclave area you will find the shrine to the White Elephant and the story of how the temple on Doi Suthep was founded. There is a wide walkway around the main temple which leads you to a large viewing terrace with terrific views down over Chiang Mai, weather permitting. Just past the viewing terrace is one of the worlds largest gongs, which makes an earthly rich sound when struck.
The Wat can be reached by road from Chiang Mai. From the car park at the temple's base visitors can climb 309 steps to reach the pagodas or take a tram. Once inside the temple grounds visitors must be appropriately dressed and must remove footwear. The original copper plated chedi is the most holy area of the temple grounds. Within the site are pagodas, statues, bells, a museum, and shrines. Aspects of the wat draw from both Buddhism and Hinduism. There is a model of the Emerald Buddha and a statue of the Hindu God Ganesh. Views of Chiang Mai can be seen on the far side of the temple.

Setidaknya 3 tahun terakhir, grup band Slank selalu menutup akhir tahun di Desember dengan menyelenggarakan konser ulang tahunnya, setelah sebelumnya di ulang tahun ke-29, Slank dengan menggandeng sponsor Djarum Coklat, menggelar konser ulang tahun di Lap. Kridosono, Jogja, pada ulang tahun ke-30 dirayakan di Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta dengan sponsor Clavo Premio, kali ini pada ulang tahun ke 31, Slank kembali merayakannya di Lanud Husein Sastranegara, Bandung, kali ini dengan menggandeng Supermusic ID dan RTV.

Hal ini kemudian yang membuat Slank mendapatkan input dan kritikan, salah satunya dari Oppie Andaresta yang juga tampil saat konser HUT berlangsung.
Anyway, terlepas dari semua itu, gw cuma mau bilang, semoga Slank selalu bisa mempertahankan karakteristiknya sebagai inspirator banyak orang di Indonesia, tetap bisa independen sebagai musisi, dan tetap memiliki idealisme dalam bermusik, tanpa harus ada muatan isu-isu yang tidak relevan di lagu-lagunya :)

Canadian Army units across Atlantic Canada will hold a series of “patching” and flag raising ceremonies in the coming months to officially issue divisional patches. With the restoration, present-day soldiers of the Army in Atlantic Canada will now wear a maroon patch on their uniforms – the same colour worn by the Atlantic Canada’s soldiers in the 5th Canadian Division during the First and Second World Wars.

Des militaires adoptent la position en place repos lors de la cérémonie de présentation de l’écusson du Groupe de soutien de la 5e Division du Canada (GS 5 Div CA), à la Base de soutien de la 5e Division du Canada Gagetown, le 14 mai 2014.
Les unités de l’Armée canadienne de tout le Canada atlantique tiendront des cérémonies de remise d’écussons et de lever du drapeau afin de procéder à la remise officielle de l’écusson divisionnaire. À la fin des cérémonies, tous les soldats de l’Armée canadienne dans les provinces atlantiques porteront un écusson marron sur leur uniforme en souvenir de la couleur distinctive que portaient les soldats du Canada atlantique à l’époque où la 5e Division du Canada combattait durant la Première et la Deuxième Guerres mondiales.
