Kids supporting Pennies in Protest efforts. Our families discussed the WBC protests in a way that suited the age, cognitive development, and temperament of each child. We invited our older children to attend the VCU rally, if they wished. These two children also asked to attend the later Hermitage High School rally.
Alleria as in the video support fed with a mixture of low lactose cottage cheese and little pears / banana puree. She has lost weight off, getting old, have the beginning of back legs weakness, has a growing mammary tumor and lens prolapse in one eye. She is, after all, still sprightly for her age, but we should be happy for each day / week we can keep her.

The photo shows the tools I used to hold a 2x4 against the ceiling of my garage. I was attaching 2x4s to the ceiling to make it easier to hang things and brace things (like free-standing shelves).
The picture was taken part-way through the process of pressing the board to the ceiling. I was acting alone. Based on something I saw in a magazine, and heavily influenced by my make-it-as-complicated-as-possible philosophy, the method I used was this:
1. Mark location on ceiling for the 2x4 ceiling board (hereafter referred to as "ceiling board").
2. Nail two small string cradles to the ceiling near the ends of the proposed position of the ceiling board. The ceiling board will hang temporarily in these cradles.
3. Insert one end of the ceiling board into one cradle, then the other end into the other cradle. Result: the ceiling board is hanging in the two cradles about two inches (5cm) below the ceiling.
4. Place two clamps within easy reach of each end of the ceiling board. They will be used later.
5. Grab two other boards: a pre-cut board that is almost as long as the floor-to-ceiling distance and a short board. These, clamped together, will act as temporary supports for the ceiling board. Stand on a stool under one end of the ceiling board, holding the two supports together vertically.
6. Keeping the supports pressed together, move the short board upward as far as possible, elevating the end of the ceiling board. Clamp the two supports together. RESULT: the very end of the ceiling board is pressed against the ceiling. The other end of the ceiling board is still lying in its cradle.
7. Repeat the raising process at the other end of the ceiling board. RESULT: this end of the ceiling board is now pressed against the ceiling, but the other end is still a bit loose.
8. Return to the first end of the ceiling board, loosen the clamps, repeat the raising process, and re-clamp the supports. RESULT: this end of the hanging board is tight enough against the ceiling to require no more raising.
9. Return (again) to the second end and repeat the raising process there. RESULT: the ceiling board is pressed tightly enough against the ceiling to allow drilling of pilot holes for the screws that will attach the ceiling board to the ceiling.
10. Drill holes, install screws, remove the hanging cradles and supports.
The process is tedious to say the least. But it worked: I attached four 2x4s to the ceiling in this manner. After this work was finished I realized I could have simplified this process by using my stepladders as bases for holding the 2x4s in place. One can buy devices called "third hands" (often used by carpenters and drywall installers) to hold things in place, but I am too cheap to shell out $50 for a tool that gets little use.
I am in a rare fit of industriousness in the garage. That's why I've been inactive on Flickr lately. The goal is to create a better working environment on my side of the garage and enough additional storage space that we can park my wife's Jeep in the garage again.
Friday 13 December 2019, saw the latest police community support officers (PCSOs) complete their training in preparation for beginning duty on the streets of Greater Manchester.
The occasion was marked by a passing-out parade at the Force’s Sedgley Park Centre.
The work of PCSOs complements and supports their regular police officer colleagues. They provide a highly visible and accessible uniformed presence in the heart of local communities, which is intended to improve the quality of life and offer reassurance to the general public.

Eishtec, the Waterford based customer contact solutions provider, announced today that it is to create 250 new jobs by October 2013 as part of a major expansion via a new custom built facility in Drinagh, Co. Wexford. Etchingham Supporting Ukraine - - - Following the request to the world from President Zelensky, Etchingham decided to show its solidarity with Ukraine. People gathered in the Queen’s Garden under the Ukrainian flag for a minute of silence thinking of those who have died, are injured, or are fleeing for their lives to foreign lands.
There was then a minute of applause in honour of those who are fighting to uphold the status of Ukraine as an independent nation. As we stood there in the sunshine of an English spring day,
We were reminded of our tremendous luck at having been born where we were, with the ability to speak out if we wish. We hope this privilege is maintained in Ukraine after this sorry affair is over.
The Belle 12'' doll standing, supported by a Kaiser stand. She is wearing her pink winter outfit, with her cape off. Her ponytail was a bit messy after taking it out of the hood of the cape, so I combed it to make it as neat as I could. It was curly, and off center. There was a nice pink bow in her hair above the ponytail. The pink and red dress was covered in glitter, which did shed. The half length sleeves had large ruffled cuffs. Belle looks dainty in her pink dress without the cape and hood. I also left out the bluebird in these poses.
Detailed photos of the dolls in the Beauty and the Beast Deluxe Doll Set, deboxed. They include the 1/6 scale Beast, Belle and Gaston dolls, and the Philippe plush. Beast and Belle are in their winter outfits. I show Beast and Belle both with and without their capes. The bluebird figurine is included with Belle when she has her cape on. Beast is not that stable free standing, so I support him with a Kaiser stand for these photos.
I just got the Beauty and the Beast Deluxe Doll Set ($79.95) from my local Disney Store (on Thursday June 30, 2016). The accessory figures look really detailed and well done. In fact, I like Chip better in this set than the one with the new Classic Belle doll. Also the bluebird looks nicer than the one with the new Classic Snow White. Belle and Beast are in their winter outfits. Belle also has her blue peasant outfit and her yellow ball gown. Beast also has his formal outfit. Philippe is way too small, but is a very cute plush. I like this set way better than the ones for Aladdin or Sleeping Beauty.

MALABAR, Fla. - Senior Army Reserve leaders from throughout the Southeast United States converged at several military installations on Florida's east coast to inspect approximately 900 Soldiers participating in a mobilization exercise (MOBEX) conducted by the 641st Regional Support Group (RSG).
Army Maj. Gen. Les Carroll, commanding general of the 377th Theater Sustainment Command, and Army Brig. Gen. Francisco A. Espaillat, commanding general of the 143rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), boarded a UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter operated by the Florida National Guard at Orlando International Airport the morning of Jan. 23. In less than 45 minutes, the two generals and their staff arrived at Patrick Air Force Base to meet more than a dozen Soldiers competing in the 641st RSG's Best Warrior Competition.
As the Best Warrior competitors prepared to take their places on the firing range, the generals proceeded to the Air Force's Malabar Training Annex. There, Army Col. Donald Absher, commander of the 641st RSG, along with dozens of senior officers at the company and battalion level briefed the generals on the numerous training events the 641st simultaneously conducted in three separate locations. Carroll and Espaillat saw firsthand the 641st RSG troops in action as they toured the site and spoke with junior Soldiers participating in field exercises ranging from driver's training to casualty evacuation.
The generals concluded their tour by awarding commander coins to several Soldiers who made major contributions toward MOBEX's planning, organization and implementation. Espaillat also awarded the Meritorious Service Medal to Army Capt. Julie Bowyer, the 641st RSG's chief of operations.
The 143rd ESC's commander even spared a couple minutes to meet the father and grandmother of Sgt. John Carkeet, a public affairs noncommissioned officer who provided photojournalism support for the MOBEX. The pair drove to Melbourne International Airport to see their son and grandson leave his hometown in typical Army fashion ... via Blackhawk.
Approximately a dozen convoys traveling as far as South Carolina arrived at Patrick Air Force Base, Port Canaveral and Malabar Jan. 22 to conduct this four-day field exercise that demonstrates the Army Reserve's transportation and logistics capabilities on land and sea. MOBEX will continue 24/7 operations until Jan. 25.

A metal sign shaped like a cow stands beside Interstate 40 in Quay County, New Mexico. The sign is painted like the American Flag and below it is a sign that reads: "We Support Our Troops. USA". A bumper sticker that reads: "U.S. Coast Guard. Always Ready, Always There" is stuck to the pole that holds the signs.
In October 2011 Gilroy Fire Department responded to a report of a house on fire. Arriving units were confronted by a fully involved house, and struck a second and then a third alarm. Gilroy was assisted on scene by units from South Santa Clara County, Cal Fire and Santa Clara County Fire Department, along with members of Fire Associates providing Rehab services
Fire Associates Fire Support Unit 3 is a 1989 Ford F350 equipped for Rehab and canteen service. Fire Associates are dispatched to all multi alarm fires county wide and operate 3 Fire Support Units.
