TAO supports orphans & vulnerable children by training their carers to create agri-businesses. Since 2011, we have introduced an innovative, essential and highly successful component into our projects. We have worked with our beneficiaries to provide the training to work together in groups and negotiate with commercial buyers to receive good market prices for their produce. This means they have to sell in bulk and that their produce has to be high quality. To ensure the latter, we have provided tarpaulins on which grains can be dried cleanly.

So universally true is this, the spot where we chance to be always seems the best.
The rather less well known logistic support truck with Reg.No. EN6893 operated by China Motor Bus caught my interest. So I modified a Tomytec truck that has the same cab into the CMB EN6893. I only found one photo of the truck, so not sure how it looks on the hidden sides. But judging from the photo, it has a large liftgate at the back, so it should be easy to guess how it looks at the rear.
This truck was modified to a tow truck after New World First Bus took over China Motor Bus franchised bus service.

About Us
The Tibetan Nuns Project was established under the auspices of the Tibetan Women's Association and the Department of Religion and Culture of H. H. the Dalai Lama and is dedicated to educating and supporting nuns in India from all Tibetan Buddhist lineages.
The Beginning
In the mid 1980s, with the strong encouragement of H.H. the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan Women's Association began to work on behalf of nuns of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Initial efforts focused on small projects within the two existing nunneries in the Dharamsala area, and the women also worked to start a new nunnery in South India.
In early 1991, a group of 66 refugee nuns appeared overnight on the streets of Dharamsala, India. They had been on a two-year pilgrimage from eastern Tibet that had ended in a journey over the Himalayas. Ill and exhausted, they had nowhere to go. The Tibetan Women's Association organized emergency assistance to meet their basic needs, and set in motion the Tibetan Nuns Project to work exclusively on behalf of the nuns. The Project immediately began to find long-term solutions to the problems of securing housing, medical care and most importantly, education for refugee nuns. The Project created a sponsorship program, reaching out to individuals around the world.
Funding
The Project is primarily funded by generous donations from individuals and organizations. Institutional funding has come from the Heinrich Boell Foundation of Germany; the Norwegian Tibet Committee Women's Group and the Norwegian organizations Fokus and Norad; the Swedish foundation Soir-IM; the American Himalayan Foundation; Rigpa Foundation of London; the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Hershey Family Foundation, and the Betsy Gordon Foundation. Money is also produced by the nuns' numerous income-generating projects.
Our Leadership
Director Rinchen Khando Choegyal, is a former Minister of Education in the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, founding President of the Women's Tibetan Association, and sister-in-law of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. She resides in Dharamsala.
Co-Director Elizabeth Napper, PhD., a scholar of Tibet and Tibetan Buddhism, is author of Dependent-Arising and Emptiness, translator and editor of Mind in Tibetan Buddhism, and co-editor of Kindness, Clarity and Insight, by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. She divides her time between Dharamsala and the U.S.
Co-Director Venerable Lobsang Dechen, received her B.A. from St. Bedes in Shimla and her B. of Ed. from Punjab University in Chandigarh, and previously taught at the Tibetan Children's Village School in Lower Dharamsala. She resides in Dharamsala.

The Tibetan Nuns Project is comprised of two sister organizations. All of our program work takes place in northern India, where our office is located within the Dolma Ling complex. Our program work is governed by our Board of Directors in India. In the U.S., the Tibetan Nuns Project is a registered non-profit with 501(c) tax status that conducts fundraising and outreach work in North America and operates under the governance of its own Board of Directors.

Our Staff
Our India office is staffed largely by lay Tibetans who are increasingly assisted by the nuns. It is our vision that, after completion of the educational programs currently underway, all of the administration of the Tibetan Nuns Project will one day be carried out by the nuns. In the U.S. we have a small administrative and fundraising office in Seattle, Washington which is staffed by two employees assisted by a number of committed volunteers.

“A slender and restricted diet is always dangerous not only in chronic
diseases but also in acute diseases.” Hippoctates 400B.C. Nutrition support
in critically ill is obligatory and least prioritized till date in this part of world. But
there has been a revolutionary change across the globe in last few years
since nutrition care is an essential and integral part of first line ICU protocol.
Nutrition care in the ICU presents several challenges because the usual
control mechanisms such as hunger and thirst may be missing. Despite the
huge body of evidence that Nutrition support is essential in ICU we face lots
of impediments to provide early and optimal Nutrition support. Throughout
ICU course patients and attending doctors faces cascades of challenges which more complicates the already fragile issues relating demands Vs. supply. Now a days it is not
uncommon to encounter patients who spend days and months in ICU struggling multidisciplinary
approaches. Most of well designed studies have suggested that both under and over feedings are
dangerous in critically ill hence the need to develop nutrition care plan which should be dynamic and
flexible enough to take care of all subsequent challenges.
Nutrition screening and assessment
The first step in providing appropriate nutrition therapy is to identify patients at risk and diagnose
nutritional problems. Nutritional screening and assessment are fundamental to an effective nutrition
therapy program. These should be routinely undertaken by appropriately trained and skilled nutrition
specialist. Screening and assessment have similar goals: to identify patients at risk of malnutrition or
patients who are malnourished. The first step in identifying risk factors for malnutrition is to observe
and interview patients. Questions that are commonly asked during screening should be easy and
include information about body weight changes within a given time frame and amount of oral intake .
By consensus and validations there is an urgent need to roll down our own assessment tool with an
Indian perspective.
Nutrition support
There are lots of myths about Nutrition support in ICU such as bowel sounds are absent , large
gastric residuals , diarrhea , proteins are restricted in ARF and so on. There are plenty of unmet
needs and there is an urgent need to change the dogmatic picture. Many a times critically ill patients
receive even less than half of the actual caloric needs.
Since there is no true biomarker of adequacy of nutritional status we solely rely on tools and
clinical skills. There is no doubt that starvations is bad for both community dwellers and critically
ill patients.Even well nourished critically ill patients passes through cascades of metabolic and
immunological events which ultimately affects host defense and both short and long term
outcome.

In November 2012 we went on a trip to Indonesia to see how people are tackling child malnutrition there with the support of Save the Children.
What?
Using jigsaw pieces stitched by craftivists (that means you!), the project will create an art installation to raise awareness of the issues of world hunger and injustice. As well as making a piece for the artwork, we're encouraging you to make one for yourself to keep as a reminder to be part of the solution, and to give a piece stitched with the words "I'm a piece" to your MP, to ask them to be the positive change they wish to see in the world. You can find instructions here, your jigsaw template here, suggested slogans here, a story to reflect on whilst stitching here and there's also a video here.- everything you should need!
Why?
The aim is to raise awareness and show that the craft community wants the Government to use its power and influence as host of the 2013 G8 to tackle injustice. Each piece of the puzzle will be stitched with a message to remind us we can all improve the world and help fulfill its potential to be a more beautiful place for all.
Where?
There will be craft events across the country from Manchester to London, Cardiff and Milton Keynes and crafty activists are invited to do the project on their own, with friends or set up their own event, as well as spreading messages and images about the project through their social media platforms using #imapiece. And, of course, we hope you'll sign the Race Against Hunger petition too.

Please join the Craftivist Collective's Jigsaw Project, which will run until the spring 2013. Help put hunger at the top of the agenda at the G8 next summer, and encourage us all to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

The Rape of Polyxena by Pio Fedi, unveiled 1866
(Rape in this sense means kidnapping)
Ployxena was the daughter of Hecuba and the King of Troy.
This statue shows Achilles'son Neoptolemus taking the Trojan princess Polyxena who has offered herself in exchange for the return of her brother Hector’s body. He grasps Polyxena securely in his left arm while he raises the sword with his right arm to beat back Queen Hecuba, Polyxena’s mother, who clings desperately to her daughter.
Achilles had fallen in love with Ployxena. Achilles kills another of her brothers, Hector.
Ployxena offers herself as a slave to Achilles in return for Hector's body. Ployxena discovered Achilles' heel betraying him to his brother Paris. Paris kills Achilles, as he is dying, Achilles asks that Polyxena “Sacrificed” to him, and Ployxena is stabbed to death.
The Loggia dei Lanzi, also called the Loggia della Signoria, is a building on a corner of the Piazza della Signoria in Florence, Italy, adjoining the Uffizi Gallery. It consists of wide arches open to the street. The arches rest on clustered pilasters with Corinthian capitals.
The vivacious construction of the Loggia is in stark contrast with the severe architecture of the Palazzo Vecchio.
It is effectively an open-air sculpture gallery of antique and Renaissance art.
Featured Loggia art
1) On the façade of the Loggia , below the parapet, are trefoils with allegorical figures of the four cardinal virtues (Fortitude, Temperance, Justice and Prudence) by Agnolo Gaddi. Their blue enamelled background is the work of Leonardo, a monk, while the golden stars were painted by Lorenzo de' Bicci. The vault, composed of semicircles, was done by the Florentine Antonio de' Pucci.
On the steps of the Loggia are the Medici lions; two Marzoccos, marble statues of lions, heraldic symbols of Florence; that on the right is from Roman times and the one on the left was sculpted by Flaminio Vacca in 1598.

3) Along the back of the Loggia are five marble female statues (three are identified as Matidia, Marciana and Agrippina Minor), Sabines and a statue of a barbarian prisoner Thusnelda from Roman times from the era of Trajan to Hadrian.
They were discovered in Rome in 1541. The statues had been in the Medici villa at Rome since 1584 and were brought here by Pietro Leopoldo in 1789. They all have significant, modern restorations.

The boxes have been unpacked, flattened, and stowed away in the garage, . . . readied for the next move. But till then, I have a new front yard to explore, and it has rose bushes!

Krishnas flute, called Murali, is an extension of his beauty and grace. It is the All-Pervading Net that draws all who hear it to him. A Bengali poem speaks of the helplessness of a gopi in its spell:
How can I describe his relentless flute,
Which pulls virtuous women from their homes
And drags them by their hair to Krishna
As thirst and hunger pull the doe to the snare?
Chaste ladies forget their lords,
Wise men forget their wisdom,
And clinging vines shake loose from their trees,
Hearing that music.
Then how shall a simple dairymaid withstand its call?

The texts describe the utter abandon that comes over even the most loyal and dutiful wife, daughter, maiden, or woman when a note of Mirali is heard. They leave cows half-milked, food on the stove, one ear-ring dangling, one eye unpainted, and in their hurry to find Krishna, girdles slip from their hips and their hair falls loose.
This affront to moral and social law is not the wantonness of loose women, but souls responding to the higher call of the divine given voice in Krishnas flute. And in his joyous presence, the rustic maidens sing and dance with heavenly grace.

Beams support exterior wall forms between two pontoons under construction.
Construction is complete on the second cycle of SR 520 bridge pontoons in Aberdeen. In this cycle, crews built six total pontoons:
• Three longitudinal pontoons (360 ft. x 75 ft. x 29 ft.)
• One cross pontoon (270 ft. x 75 ft. x 33 ft.)
• Two supplemental stability pontoons (98 ft. x 60 ft. x 28 ft.)

The Support Races Featured During the Day were also Full of Different Makes and Models of Ford Racing Cars From The Focus RS to the Ford Escort and the Iconic Sierra Cosworth and even the Iconic Enduro KA series was Present and with Drivers and Spectators Ready the Racing was about to begin.

First up Champion of Brands and with Fast and High Speed Action from Thease Machines Lets See who took that all important People Position to Start the Race in P1.
In First Place was (Tom Mills) in his Spectrum KMR with a Best Lap Time of 50.154 and a Top Speed of 86.70mph. Amazing work there Tom a truly Heroic and Brave Drive for Pole Position.
In Second Place was (Niall Murray) in his Van Diemen BD21 with a Best Lap Time of 50.397 and a Top Speed of 86.28mph. Fantastic Work Niall Very Fast and Quick Driving.
In Third Place was (Colin Queen) in his Ray GR18 with a Best Lap Time of 50.399 and a Top Speed of 86.28mph. Another Incredible Driver in Colin Pushing Hard and Almost Taking Second Place from Niall. I think we are in for some Really Intense Racing but who will be Fast Enough to on Track to Take Victory?

After a Thrilling Battle that saw Tom Mills take Pole Position its time to find out who Won the Race and out of The Top Three Could Anyone else on the Grid Challenge them for a Spot on the Podium. Lets Find Out.
In First Place and taking the Win was (Niall Murray) in his Van Diemen BD21 with a Lap Time of 50.518 and an Average Speed of 77.40mph. Incredible work there Niall Beating back Tom to take Victory in the First Race and a Well Determined Drive to Secure it.
In Second Place was (Tom Mills) in his Spectrum KMR with a Lap Time of 50.706 and an Average Speed of 77.38mph. Amazing Drive there Tom Keeping up with Niall and a Fantastic Battle thought the entire Race too.
In Third Place was (Colin Queen) in his RAY GR18 with a Lap Time of 50.820 and an Average Speed of 77.32mph. A Great Victory for Third Place on the Podium Colin showing a Determined Drive and a lot of Bravery thought the Race.
What an Incredible First Race to Start out the Days Events and with Another Coming up Soon after is it possible for Another Competitor to take Victory and the Spotlight? Lets Take A Look.

Race 2 Up Next and The Final Time for Anyone Racing in Champion of Brands to Score Points and Take Victory in either First Second or Third Place. After a Thrilling End to Race 1 which Saw Tom Mills getting Beaten by Niall Murray it was time to see who could Once Again bring the Roar and Thunder Home for a Final Time.
In First Place was (Niall Murray) in his Van Diemen BD21 with a Lap Time of 50.584 and an Average Speed of 84.84mph. Another Incredible Drive from Niall to once again take The Final Pole Position for Champion of Brands. Brilliant Drive there Niall.
In Second Place was (Tom Mills) in his Spectrum KMR with a Lap Time of 50.606 and an Average Speed of 84.47mph. Another Well Deserved Second Place for Tom Showing Incredible Car Control and Bravery Pushing the Limits on Every Corner to Keep up with Niall. Fantastic Drive Tom.
In Third Place was (Lucan Romenek) in his Van Diemen JL13 with a Lap Time of 50.927 and an Average Speed of 83.92mph. Very Well Done there Lucan Fantastic to see a New Driver take a Step onto the Podium and Celebrate the Victory.
What an Exciting Opening Day here at Brands Hatch for Ford Power Live with Champion of Brands Providing some Well Deserved Winners in Niall Tom Lucan and Colin. Well Done to all other Drivers taking Part and Continuing to Improve and do what it is that you Love. Keep Up the Momentum and Never Give Up Hope of One Day Making it to the Top Step of the Podium.

Clubman Sports Prototype Championship (Qualifying)
Clubman Sports Prototypes were up next and thease Mad Looking Machines are known for their Supreme Aerodynamics as well as Insane Straight Line Speed. each Driver will have to be on the ball and Keeping their Machine under Constant Control as they will be Powering round this 1,2 mile Indy Circuit at Speeds of at Least 90mph.
Lets Look to the Track to see who Qualified where and see who will be starting the Race on Pole.
In First Place and taking Pole Position was (Steve Dickens) in his Mallock MK29 with a Best Lap Time of 47.146 and a Top Speed of 92.23mph. Amazing Drive there Steve Very Fast and Committed for Pole Position.
In Second Place was (Clive Wood) in his Mallock MK23 with a Best Lap Time of 47.784 and a Top Speed of 91.00mph. Well Deserved there Clive Pushing that Mallock for all its worth and taking Second Place.
In Third Place was (Alex Champkin) Mallock MK27 Synergy with a Best Lap Time of 48.129 and a Top Speed of 90.35mph. Very Well Done there Alex Taking Third Place and a Spirited Drive with it.

Now it was Time to head Back to the Blue Badged Ford Machines Once again as the Modified Ford Series Rolled out onto the Race Track with each car being Heavily Modified from their Road Counterparts. With Escort Cosworth's and RS200's Roaring and Ready to go it was Time to see what the First Group A set of Drivers could do in Qualifying.

The Final Qualifying Session of the Day Had Come and its the Enduro KA'S. with all of the Cars on the Grid being Models of the Popular Ford KA made Between 1998-2009 thease Cars were Fun City cars that could get you from A to B with Ease. They were Also Build on a tight budget meaning that Handling Performance and Comfort were a Big Selling point of thease Brilliant little cars.
The Racing Versions seen here in the pictures however are built for Racing. they use different tyres but still the same Legendary 1.3 Dura Tec Engine found in their Road Going Counterparts.

my daughter's high school band had the honor to play on the plaza in front of the Lincoln Memorial this year as well as the Kennedy Center! It was all very exciting and of course costly too.

A caryatid is a sculpted female figure serving as an architectural support taking the place of a column or a pillar supporting an entablature on her head. The Greek term karyatides literally means "maidens of Karyai", an ancient town of Peloponnese. Karyai had a famous temple dedicated to the goddess Artemis in her aspect of Artemis Karyatis: "As Karyatis she rejoiced in the dances of the nut-tree village of Karyai, those Karyatides, who in their ecstatic round-dance carried on their heads baskets of live reeds, as if they were dancing plants".
Some of the earliest known examples were found in the treasuries of Delphi, dating to about the 6th century BC, but their use as supports in the form of women can be traced back even earlier, to ritual basins, ivory mirror handles from Phoenicia, and draped figures from archaic Greece.
The best-known and most-copied examples are those of the six figures of the Caryatid Porch of the Erechtheion on the Acropolis at Athens. One of those original six figures, removed by Lord Elgin in the early 19th century, is now in the British Museum in London. The Acropolis Museum holds the other five figures
Although of the same height and build, and similarly attired and coiffed, the six Caryatids are not the same: their faces, stance, draping, and hair are carved separately; the three on the left stand on their right foot, while the three on the right stand on their left foot. Their bulky, intricately arranged hairstyles serve the crucial purpose of providing static support to their necks, which would otherwise be the thinnest and structurally weakest part.
The Romans also copied the Erechtheion caryatids, installing copies in the Forum of Augustus and the Pantheon in Rome, and at Hadrian's Villa at Tivoli. Another Roman example, found on the Via Appia, is the Townley Caryatid.
Renaissance and after
In Early Modern times, the practice of integrating caryatids into building facades was revived, and in interiors they began to be employed in fireplaces, which had not been a feature of buildings in Antiquity and offered no precedents. Early interior examples are the figures of Hercules and Iole carved on the jambs of a monumental fireplace in the Sala della Jole of the Doge's Palace, Venice, about 1450. In the following century Jacopo Sansovino, both sculptor and architect, carved a pair of female figures supporting the shelf of a marble chimneypiece at Villa Garzoni, near Padua. No architect mentioned the device until 1615, when Palladio's pupil Vincenzo Scamozzi included a chapter devoted to chimneypieces in his Idea della archittura universale. Those in the apartments of princes and important personages, he considered, might be grand enough for chimneypieces with caryatid supporters, such as one he illustrated and a similar one he installed in the Sala dell'Anticollegio, also in the Doge's Palace.
In the 16th century, from the examples engraved for Sebastiano Serlio's treatise on architecture, caryatids became a fixture in the decorative vocabulary of Northern Mannerism expressed by the Fontainebleau School and the engravers of designs in Antwerp. In the early 17th century, interior examples appear in Jacobean interiors in England; in Scotland the overmantel in the great hall of Muchalls Castle remains an early example. Caryatids remained part of the German Baroque vocabulary (illustration, right) and were refashioned in more restrained and "Grecian" forms by neoclassical architects and designers, such as the four terracotta caryatids on the porch of St Pancras New Church, London (1822).
Many caryatids lined up on the facade of the 1893 Palace of the Arts housing the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. In the arts of design, the draped figure supporting an acanthus-grown basket capital taking the form of a candlestick or a table-support is a familiar cliché of neoclassical decorative arts. The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota has caryatids as a motif on its eastern facade.
In 1905 American sculptor Augustus Saint Gaudens created a caryatid porch for the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York in which four of the eight figures (the other four figures holding only wreaths) represented a different art form, Architecture, Painting, Sculpture, and Music .
Auguste Rodin's 1881 sculpture Fallen Caryatid Carrying her Stone (part of his monumental The Gates of Hell work) shows a fallen caryatid. Robert Heinlein described this piece in Stranger in a Strange Land: "Now here we have another emotional symbol... for almost three thousand years or longer, architects have designed buildings with columns shaped as female figures... After all those centuries it took Rodin to see that this was work too heavy for a girl... Here is this poor little caryatid who has tried — and failed, fallen under the load.... She didn't give up, Ben; she's still trying to lift that stone after it has crushed her..."
Traditional caravans and public debate inspire Roma people to vote
A NGO of young Roma women and men from Moldova decided to conduct an unconventional awareness campaign to promote conscious voting in communities with the largest Roma populations during the June 2015 local election campaign. “Armed” with traditional horse-driven carts and an orchestra of Romani musicians, for nearly two weeks the Union of Roma Youth from Moldova "Tarna-Rom" organized the National "Let's vote!" Caravan.
It also advocated for the importance of women’s participation in elections, not only as voters, but also as candidates.
