Sunset photos on Flickr

We have strong storms rolling through Southern California right now. A short break in the rains occurred right at sunset today, so I rushed to the beach near my house to take some photos of the sunset and stormy sky. Low tide was an extra bonus and provided excellent reflection of the light and clouds. The rain resumed a couple of minutes after this photo was taken and the sky became completely dark.

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, looking west across the intracoastal waterway. The landscape and sunsets here are alien to me; nothing like those in my native south Georgia countryside. This one kind of reminded me of a sunset painted on a blue butterfly wing pendant I cherished as a kid; the orange was so intense you could taste it.
