The clouds looked very moody at Thornton Reservoir, but it was a fairly still night allowing for the reflections on the water.

It's Saturday and the weather in Frankfurt is all dull and cloudy. So I decided to drive "somewhere". I ended up in the Rheingau, a region close by and yet spectacular. Sincethe weather was better I got lucky with some nice panoramic views of the valley and the Rhine (Rhein) river.
White Beach and sunets. This is what Boracay stands for- in a touristic way. The beach is amazing, sunsets are jaw-braking. Actually there is more people on the beach on the sunset ceremony than during a day. Local bangkas are providing everyday sunset tours (look up). Weddings on the beach are during sunsets. It`s all about them, and they are worth it.
While on holiday in Bali we were talked into doing the seafood sunset on the beach at Jimbaran bay. The food was shocking and not good value for the $$, but the sunset made the trip worth while :-)
Not sure about this...went out to catch the nice light of the sunset over some nearby fields last night, but had to park in the field entrance (and had my daughter with me who was cold) so didn't bother with tripods and filters. Shot in RAW so I managed to salvage some detail.
This tree was a nice and willing subject in a colorful sunset. It was very red due to a lot of dust in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

been a while since i got out, felt very rusty and managed to stuff up a lot of things...
headed out to longreef to stand on the point with a rising tide behind me...the journey in was interesting, the beach strewn with scores of dead birds, bodies twisted and lifeless after surcumbing to god know what...at the end of the spit someone had scribbled "jesus loves you!" in the sand in huge letters, the 'j' backwards and the 'o' encircling a little pile of birds...let's hope he loves boids too...
this is looking back to deewhy, on the left (just out of screen) the catholic seminary presides over manly...to the right the baha'i temple presides over monavale...and i kept humming:
"...catholics to the left of me, baha'i to the right, and here i am stuck in the middle with you..."
or maybe it is you who are stuck with me...
