Started 2019 off right with a brisk walk at Tomales Bay, north of San Francisco. I'd hoped to stop at Marshall for some oysters, but alas, they were closed. Nevertheless, Mother Nature ordered up an appetizing sunset. I had to stop and capture this sleepy scene.
Sunset a couple of weeks back looking across a field of hay bales towards Whitecroft / Gatcombe on the Isle of Wight .
Old Whitecroft chapel can be just made out in the distance on the right ,and Gatcombe house in the distance on the left .

The sunset at the beach was amazing yesterday! We had high tide in the morning and when it dropped back down again, it left a little shallow 'pond' on the surface of the sand, so I grabbed my three-year-old, headed out there, and let her loose.

Sunset over the River Humber on 18/05/18. I'd watched as the sun dipped behind a bank of cloud and I thought that was it, so I packed away the camera. Just as I was about to get back into the car, the sun re-appeared from beneath a layer of cloud and slowly moved further down behind another cloud layer. I got the camera back out and took a few images as part of the sun was sliced through by two cloud layers.

The summit and surrounding area of May Hill consists of a wide expanse of open grassland, bracken and gorse with boggy areas and pools. The hill is capped by a clump of pine trees, planted in 1887 to commemorate the golden jubilee of Queen Victoria. It is now the location of annual May Day celebrations.
