So I guess I'm becoming a bit more psychotic when it comes to trying to get the shots I want. In this particular instance, I found myself on the wrong side of the Merced river as sunset was approaching. Realizing that all of the color and reflections were going to be on the other side, I thought about it for 2 minutes, and then waded in through water that was about 3 feet deep in order to set up my next shot on the opposite side. I thought I might lose a couple of toes from frostbite as the water was FREEZING, but I knew it was my last set of shots for the day, and I can spare a couple of toes if it means gaining a sunset in Yosemite. (I mean....what's a couple toes?)
This particular sunset came together rather quickly and I was glad I took a chance on missing another shot of the Horsetail Falls. While I was taking this particular shot, almost every other camera in the park was pointed at Horsetail which by that point was completely covered in clouds. I gambled and decided that it looked like we might get some color, and just before we lost the sun, the area above the Cathedral Rocks lit up and I spent another 15 minutes shooting while not being able to feel my toes.

Shot from Rickenbacker Cswy, Miami, FL
Time to revisit some "old" places. It's been close to 3 years since I have been over to Virginia Key for a sunset shoot.
Now would be the perfect time to shoot sunset after work, if the clouds should cooperate and I should get out on time that is. I will try and swap my handbag for my camera bag. ;-)
Beautiful sunset i got to see this morning when i woke up. What a wonderful sight to see after a long night of rest.

#Sunset from Yesterday. Although it proved to be bit disappointing, a brief moment followed where the #sun punched through the #heavy #cloud cover, which looked amazing. This picture does no justice for it. Have a great day, folks! ;-)

Tonights sunset, taken from our Helideck as we approach the Transocean Deepwater Frontier, Offshore North West Australia.
Without my gloves to photograpy this picture was not fun for my hands. The wind was very cold on this january evening - but the moment was too beautiful to let my hands in the pockets :).
As 2013 comes to a close, here's my last frame to post for the year and my personal favourite that I was able to capture.
It was one of the most beautiful sunsets I've seen. Tong and I ventured down to the sound academy back in October, and after waiting out a big storm and some rain, we were graced by this stunning view for a few brief moments. I didn't know how it would turn out on film, but boy did the provia capture it nicely.
Big thanks to Anthony with the scan as well...he used his lovely coolscan 9000 to get me a proper file instead of my v600 flatbed which could not do this any justice. The sharpness is insane and when I zoomed in to clean some black specks I thought were dust...was pleasantly surprised by the silhouettes of birds!
2013 has been a year of ups and downs. I'm so happy to have met many new friends, find my passion in shooting everyday again and I can't wait to see what 2014 brings :)
Happy New Year to all my flickr friends and those of you who still post here :)
Happy shooting as always

Eberle Winery, Paso Robles, Ca.
I visited Paso Robles last weekend for some wine tasting. Ok ok, a lot of wine tasting. Eberle had a great event for wine members one evening on their patio overlooking their vineyard. We had a phenomenal sunset that day. I had to break the camera gear out for it. This shot was taken with one hand while the other held a glass of wine. Cheers!
