It was perfect night to test out the new D610! Captured this lovely shot of Sunset Beach in Vancouver, BC. The warmth in the sky was just amazing!
Quite the sunset, and quite an evening. I had spent all day studying at the university, so coming here afterwards really cleared my mind. That's one of the good things about landscape photography; it can be very therapeutic in that way.
We've had stunning, intense, almost unreal-looking sunsets all week. Managed to get to the marina just in time tonight.

This was taken back in March when Tim Barker and myself ended up at Welcombe Mouth.
Id struggled a bit that night with finding a composition i was really happy with as id taken a couple of images here previously that i felt would be hard to better.
This place is a great location and the rock formations and geology is superb. There is only a short period where the sun lines up with the way the rocks lie as well, and this was why we chose to go there when we did.

Just on sunset the boatman from the trimaran anchored off King Island rowed ashore with his dog. I asked him if he'd mind if I photographed his dinghy. We chatted as the sun sank towards the horizon.
A beautiful Sacramento Valley, September Sunset!!
Note the Virga on the west side of the valley!!
Please pardon the crop, I wasn't paying attention when I straightened it, and just assumed that Lightroom would re-crop it for me, but I guess not.. ;-(
Coming from Apple's Aperture as my main post processing and uploading tool, it's taking a bit of time getting use to LR...
