A Sunset from my home town of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The view s to the west looking upstream on the North Saskatchewan River. The highest bridge used to handle the railway, but no longer.

Went down to Topsail Beach last night to try and get some sunset shots. The sky didn't turn out quite as nice as I had hoped but I got a couple nice ones. Shot these with my new 18-300mm Nikon lens (convenient!).
This one I tried something different with the editing. I saw a photoshop video about using photoshop HDR merge plus using a 32bit TIFF and then editing in camera raw. Supposed to give you more range to work with. Anyways I think it turned out alright (especially considering what I was working with).
With the dry weather we've been having, wildfires are popping up left and right. While that's not exactly good news, the smoke has been making for some beautiful sunsets and sunrises.
It was a spur of the moment decision to head to Titlow beach after already being out, so I didn't have any of my gear with me, just the camera. I took this using my purse as a camera rest.

The clouds looked very moody at Thornton Reservoir, but it was a fairly still night allowing for the reflections on the water.
