The field is a Bluestem Grass pasture mowed for bales of hay. One bale is seen on the left of the photo. Bluestem is a native grass for Kansas.
Carrick Bay Sunset, looking back on a trip back to the coastline of Dumfries and Galloway, its always good to get back to the places you know so well.

A trip out to Stevington hoping to get lucky with the skies. I did get lucky, a beautiful hour watching the sun go down.
Happy Friday again, I did 2 versions of this 4 frame HDR, the clouds were moving quickly so it was a ghost control problem
Sunset at Achateny Beach, on the north coast of Ardnamurchan, Argyll. From left to right, the islands of Rum, Eigg and Skye fill the horizon. Tuesday 20th June 2017.
This was back in October. There are so many rocks of all shapes and sizes along Oregon beaches, but not very many have trees growing on them. This almost qualifies as a mini island.
We've been camping for the past week on the beautiful Barrington River at Poleys Place, just outside of Gloucester NSW. We got to drive up to the top of the property to get these pic's at sunset. Thanks to Liipgloss aka Brenda Ashley for asking for permission to go up there. It was just amazing.
This kinda reminded me of some weird Hobbit or Lord of the Rings type of scenario - Imagination is wonderful...

Hazy conditions made for some nice soft colour and light at sunset last night on the beach. I initially struggled to find a decent composition as the tide was fully out and the rocks at the tideline were covered in seaweed. After a wander further down the beach I found a pool with these sand ripples leading out which I thought would catch the light as the sun set. So I set up and waited for the breeze to subside to try and catch some reflections in the water. I was stood in this pool for over an hour waiting for the sun to drop and light up the clouds with some colour.
