Photos taken on 7/24/2010 of Ralphs Shopping Center located on Crenshaw and Rodeo in Leimert Park, Los Angeles California.
This center contains a Ralphs Supermarket, which was originally The Boys Market. The owners of the The Boys Market bought out Ralphs Company around 1992, and converted all of the store that they owned to either Ralphs or Food 4 Less. Yucaipa owned the Boys, Alpha Beta, Viva, Food 4 Less, Foods Co.and the Marina Market in Marina Del Rey. This Ralphs was last updtaed around 1995, as it still has the Black and White Ralphs Decor from that time period. This store was one of the few in the area to have a service deli. When they remodeled this store, they used elements of the Boys decor.
There are shops to the left of the Ralphs. Also to the right of Ralphs is a row of shops which has a Rite Aid Pharmacy Store (former Thrifty Drug Store, which was part of the Rite Aid merger of Thrifty Payless in or around 1999). To the left the left of the Rite Aid was Akron. The Akron store was never reused for retail, as it is now a community center. To the right of Rid Aid is another retail store.
The Akron and Thrifty were destroyed in the 1992 Civil Action, which destroyed many retail areas in the Los Angeles Area. (Another Story, another day). Remenants of the riots remain to this day, and it was very sad time for our community.
I have never been in this store, but it looks like an exciting place! Almost like a carnival, or something, with all those bright lights!

The Tiana on the left is the 2012 Disney Store classic doll. She comes with straight hair pulled into a bun that requires 4 hair bands to hold up. She also has longer hair. It's difficult to manage so I braided her hair until I figure out how to style it.
The Tiana on the right is the doll that comes in the Boutique set. She had the "afro" bun that only requires two rubber bands to hold up. She has shorter hair which makes it easier to manage, though she has more fly-aways.
A response to AS 1979's heads up reminder! Elizabeth store, which will be closing in Feb next year. And I suspect it may then soon become David Jones.

Recently, the Safeway store at the Confederation Mall went through some renovations, and the décor of the store now matches new stores, somewhat. With this store, there is now a Starbucks store on the west end of town. What I like about this store, and most store renovations, is that the doors were not replaced. They were just painted black, and all decals removed.

Although the sign appears to say "Hobbs Grocery," this was the location of Squire Hickam's store. This is probably not the original building. The Hickam family lived in the valley about 1/2 mile south of here.

At the LEGO store in Charlotte I bought 5 collectible minifigures, 1 large PAB cup, and a small PAB cup.
The guy driving past in the Beer Store truck was pretty excited too, waving a flag. This pic is my favourite.
