Saturday, January 15, 2011, Sandra and I did a little fabric shopping at Buddy's, The Chicago Fabric Store on Wabash (near Adams - Down Town Chicago).
This store-room was built into the hill. So, it became a kind of refrigerator. You can open the door of the storeroom, coming from the street.

What an incredible evening of food!
This set of shikumens sold hardware along its outside road, like an outdoor Home Depot. One shop had door appliances, another lightbulbs, one had drywall, one had tools, etc. I wonder if it was planned, or just came together organically.

This store is always so crowded, all day long. I cannot understand so many people needing iPods constantly! I would think by now, just about everyone has one already.
Market Mall in Saskatoon is a pretty big mall, for a residential neighbourhood in Saskatoon. And while it is somewhat cool, it really is a mall that could one day be abandoned. All of the major stores in the mall, including Shoppers Drug Mart, Safeway and Zellers are often deserted. So, it was odd, when I saw that this Zellers store has these huge signs everywhere around their store, inside and outside. In fact, outside, there were people standing on street corners holding sticks with these kind of signs on them.
Amelia, Tori and Eden got together to make a store, selling snacks to their parents. They pretty much cleaned us out

A little floating store on Shasta Lake. As I am now learning the Nik Collection I thought I would give Silver Efex Pro a try again. I already learned some stuff that I didn't know yet. I've got to say at this point it is really nice to have my Adobe, onOne and Nik software at my disposal. I do hope to improve my post processing as I really learn to use them all. They are kind of fun to use to when you have be at the computer or can't be out shooting.
Tiffany Ceiling at Marshall Field on State Street, Chicago (photo taken above the decorations!) In 1907 when Marshall Field & Company opened the new store at the corner of State Street & Washington Street, and State Street & Randolph Street (it occupies a full block back to Wabash Avenue), it included a Tiffany Ceiling that is both the first and largest ceiling ever built in favrile iridescent glass, containing over 1.6 million pieces. The building was put on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Macy's bought out the chain in 2005, and in 2006 this historic department store's name changed to "Macy's on State Street."
