The magic conch revealed some classicly-cabbed EMD power was headed into the sun, so a "transitional" signal shot at CP466 was in order. This is EBD NS train W6G-21. Thankfully, the signal crews are dragging their feet on the western-most signals in the plant, saving this place from signal boredom, if only for the time being.

This was just a couple of months after Kid 1 was born. The signal bridge got knocked down three years later; and as more kids showed up over the next few years, the amount of time I could spend chasing trains around rapidly approached zero. By the time my better half was expecting Kid 3 in 2014, I'd starting getting interested in airplanes, and the amount of time foaming pretty much stagnated after that, save a few trips, or when something particularly interesting was in town.
Definitely was a fun few years between finishing college and shifting focus to kiddos and airplanes though!

I believe this was the previous days train 224 that was held at East Creston. A crossing was bring replaced at Orrville, Ohio and the job must not have made to the work zone before an OOS was handed down. We discovered it there crew less in the early morning hours and continued our day with a 712. Finishing up with 712 at Akron, we took a quick drive back to to Creston in the afternoon hoping to see a crew boarding, and yielded just that! The chase was on!

CSX L811 makes it way south for Elizabeth to interchange with the Georgia Northeastern after waiting for a northbound at Day. Not actually knowing what was coming, I decided to set up the flashes anyway since I had no where to be. To my delight, the power for this night was a single GP38-2, & it sounded good accelerating for the hill to Elizabeth. 5-3-23
