This is one of the most inventive church buildings of the 1960s and '70s in my area. The chapel looks like it just needs a little WD-40 to get it up and hovering again.

 

This circular sanctuary was designed in 1970 by Gwathney & Duke.

On February 11, 1861, President elect Abraham Lincoln gave a farewell speech to his friends in Springfield at this train station. He boarded the train and spent the next four years guiding the Union states through the American Civil War. Lincoln eventually returned to Springfield on May 3, 1865, on a Funeral Train.
