This is an image of Springfield Falls in Mercer County. The yellow leaves on the tree on the left was still vibrant. Pretty moist there and not much sun to burn it out yet. The flow wasn't strong but enough to show from side to side. I put this image together with a four shot

HDR. Decided to do it as there was no wind at the time.

BNSF 3181 works the limestone caverns that provide a constant temperature for storing various commodities. From what I understand there are over 3 miles of trackage underground at this location. Pretty neat operation.

I'm overdue for another morning out here, it's always worthwhile. Until then, however, here's one that's been laying around for a while from a trip last year.

Connecticut Southern Railroad's Hartford to Springfield turn job CSO-4 is led by a pair of B39-8Es in the form of orange repainted CSOR 3901 and CSOR 8530 still in its as delivered LMX gray paint and number dating from it Nov. 1987 build date by GE.

They are on Amtrak's Springfield Line main near MP 50 crossing the Connecticut River on the Warehouse Point Bridge crossing from the town of Windsor Locks into Enfield. The 1470 ft long double track bridge (though only one track is in service) dates from 1903 when the circa 1866 iron bridge was rebuilt by the New Haven Railroad, but even that structure was the second one on the site replacing a wooden Howe truss that first crossed here in 1843 by NH predecessor Hartford and Springfield Railroad.

One from Fall of 2021 - here's Springfield Falls in Mercer County, PA.

A complete little world, and I don’t have far to go to enjoy it. PS If you squint and look closely, you’ll see diamonds! 💎

On my way to work the other day, I noticed Connecticut Southern CSO-4 sitting at CP-98 waiting to go south on the Amtrak Springfield Line. I decided to go a few minutes down the street to the pedestrian bridge at the Basketball Hall of Fame. Here we see the train departing Springfield with NECR 3855 leading the way.

A day off work and the conditions were perfect as we have had ALOT of rain here in Western Pennsylvania lately. Overcast, light drizzle and 59-degrees.

Perfect weather to have a vacation day! ..

This public park is on the relatively steep slope of the western side of the Lea/Lee valley in Clapton. It was formerly the private park belonging to a large house, which is now used as a municipal building and cafe and has recently been renovated. The roped-off area is a cricket pitch.

I'm not sure if the title refers to the bird's view from the top of this snag or our view of it on its 'throne.' There were several Eastern bluebirds around the Lake Springfield trail teasing me with quick poses, this one was more patient. March weather is upon us with several days of rain ahead, not nearly enough to make up the deficit but a Spring start.
