Driving over the Dam and spillway we saw a parking lot that had escaped our notice before so we went to investigate.
It gave a different view of the power plant, but as I processed the pictures I was struck by how much the power plant resembles a beached ship from this angle and now I can't see anything else.

On February 11, 1861, President elect Abraham Lincoln gave a farewell speech to his friends in Springfield at this train station. He boarded the train and spent the next four years guiding the Union states through the American Civil War. Lincoln eventually returned to Springfield on May 3, 1865, on a Funeral Train.
