I took this photo in the spring but for some reason I never posted it. This image features crocus growing on the hills above Hidden Lakes.
Crocus, or Pasque Flowers, are the first I notice to bloom every spring in the Southern Yukon.
If you look to the left, you can see a lone figure walking on the trail. This should help provide some sense of scale when looking at the landscape in the distance.

I have been slow to comment recently as Ms. K and I are out on a mini Spring Break trip to western Maryland and to West Virginia. Taking lots of photos of course ... and Ms. K is visiting lots of local shops in between.
Just spent 2 hours at Elakala Falls (upper and lower) and had the whole place to myself. I know I was the only one there today as there were no fresh tracks in the snow (1/2") that fell with the recent storm. Also lots of trees down from the winter, so accessing the falls was quite dangerous ... but I went very slow in the wet snow, wet leaves from the past Fall ... and mud. But I think the photos will be pretty cool. Nice clear blue skies so good for shooting falls that are in the dense woods.
If anyone is planning to visit here soon ... be warned trees are all over the makeshift descent to these pretty waterfalls.
Enjoy the photo posted ... Spring Break is finally here ;))
Now to catch up on some contact's posts while Ms. K naps before dinner.
Tomorrow is the first day of spring and the weather has certainly felt that way for the last few days.
All the bulbs are starting to come up and flower.
This petite daffodil is part of a lovely plant given to me by a friend.
Daffodils are so beautiful both in color and shape I wish we could enjoy them for a longer period of time.
