So we got a little set back in our spring whether with a drop in the temperature and what should have been rain turned into snow. Other parts of the province got it pretty bad, so we got it pretty good in the city and its pretty much gone today. And this comes up on the coldest month of April in more than a 100 years.

Fortunately the weekend is shaping up to be much better for the weather :))

Seems getting warmer here. Is that just me, or is it spring?

You know, back when we made arrangements to travel to the Center for Railroad Photography and Art conference in Illinois there was anticipation of the first really nice spring trip through a greening countryside with warm temps. Unfortunately it hasn't been that kind of spring, spring has been so delayed I'm not sure there will be much of it left once winter gives up. We started the trip amidst cold, ice and snow then two days later returned to more of the same. The conference was a great time and I'll be putting up the results of the trip down and back in the next few days.

Nature's smile is coloured Spring blooms.

If there's a veil of sadness with a few tears,

a smile instills colour like a distant rainbow,

thus tears wash away and hearts express love.

We've had some lovely weather over the past couple of weeks and the daffodils have been out for a while, giving a splash of colour. Spring is definitely here!

Another successful Craigslist adventure. Went to pick up this set today. It is the Spring Blossom Cinderella Bowl Set. It had NEVER been taken out of the box. The ad said it was a wedding gift from 1972! The icing on the cake is that this set cost me $10!

I am not planning on using these bowls but I just couldn't leave them in the box. It just didn't feel right! It was really exciting to open the box though :)

Wild violets are another sure sign of Spring. Like all wild flowers, they think gardens are for sissies and rules are made to be broken. They seem to be happiest along roadsides, and sidewalks and get a particular delight in adding their purple accents to otherwise perfectly manicured grassy lawns. :) Have a great weekend!

The sign of spring !

Toronto's beautiful flowers are colouring the surroundings with its charm.

The colours are so refreshing . Feel free to share with credit :)

I got the shots of the Daffodils by placing the pot they were growing in on the garden wall and shooting from below to get the rich blue sky as a backdrop.

Spring in Berlin/Germany. Time to ride my rosa beauty!

This spring I was rewarded with a fantastic show of the silvery foliage of California native plants with the South African Drosanthemum bicolor and Canary Islands native Echium wildpretii. Here's the garden just the previous November.

A favourite spring wildflower. It grows in the shade and low to the ground. (The 'mottled' leaves you see are from trout lilies.)

Oh yeah! Figured this needed to go next to my "Winter Won" image in the photostream to offset that poor dead lonely plant.

This image was one of my early RAW shots that was processed with PS Elements. Looking forward to this tree blooming again and the bees returning. Got some fun shots last year during the week or so that the blooms were there. Hope to play around with the 300mm prime here again given the chance.
