It's the first day of spring here and these are our Kangaroo Paws growing outside of the Perth Art Gallery.These gardens have been established on the top of a large car park in Perth city,the plants in the blue planter are herbs and vegetables.This area also has a large grassed area which is very popular with families,office workers and visitors to the city.The Art gallery,Library and Museum wrap around these gardens.

I knew a fast lens would give me some different results when combined with close-up adapters...how about super shallow depth of field! The filaments and anther in this nectarine blossom seem to jump out of the page like a firework! Think I'll keep playing around with the lens combo a bit! Cheers!
Color returns to North Texas gardens this spring with a BANG...
Once in awhile I still shoot photos the old fashioned way - no blending nor HDR involved this time. I carry a Pentax Optio S in the car with me at all times and I'm glad I had it along when I spotted this guy.
I personally feel this particular image is much better if viewed at the larger sizes.

This scene makes me think of the greens of spring, which represent hope, shining through the dark trunks, lighting the whole scene.

La pianta del pero riesce a dare raccolti generosi e di buonissima qualità per decine di anni. Se le condizioni sono adatte questa pianta è in grado di vivere anche un secolo.
Il pero è caratterizzato da una chioma di tipo conico; la corteccia è di colore grigiastro ed e soggetta a frequenti fessurazioni. La grana del legno è fine e dal colore bianco rosato; per queste caratteristiche è particolarmente apprezzato in ebanisteria.
Le foglie hanno una colorazione verde brillante, sono di forma ovale e glabre. La fioritura, caratterizzata da numerosi fiori bianchi avvolti in un mazzetto di foglie, avviene in prevalenza alle estremità dei rami. I fiori sbocciano a fine marzo e la fioritura riesce a durare fino a venti giorni. Purtroppo questo è un limite per la coltivazione, infatti un periodo così prolungato può esporre la pianta a gelate e brinate, se coltivata in zone fredde.
