I will take a little Flickr break for a couple of weeks (I might not be able to keep completely away - but mostly, and no new updates for that time either).
Catch you later!
Spring lambs soaking up the warmth of the sun in sunny Wales, groomed by 'mum' and looking as fresh and clean as a 'spring lamb' can look...the parents were a tad on the grubby side!
March went out like a lamb today, warm, sunny and calm. We spent a lovely day at the coast, hope you all had a great day too :)

It's too bad that I couldn't upload the heavenly scent of these tulips and hyacinths which were part of an indoor floral display. Meanwhile, I thought you might enjoying looking at the display. HSS!

Se hai il coraggio di guardare la luce, imita la primavera e vai avanti verso di essa.
If you have the courage to look at the light, mimics the spring and go forward towards it.

Spring returns to Unioville. Soon these vines will bear young leaves of red, yellow, and green. A time of hope.

The Hunsrück is a long, triangular, pronounced upland in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is bounded by the valleys of the Moselle-Saar (north-to-west), the Nahe (south), and the Rhine (east). It is continued by the Taunus mountains, past the Rhine and by the Eifel past the Moselle.
"Spring is all about new beginnings and transformations; it's a season that symbolizes starting fresh and starting over."
Breathe in that air!

I know it’s a very old fashioned flower, but I love lilac. Then again, I am somewhat of an old fashioned person, and certainly an old soul, so perhaps it suits me. I love lilacs for their delicate blooms, sweet scent and of course their delightful shades of purple. They are a true harbinger of spring.
The theme for "Looking Close on Friday" for the 26th of May is "shades of purple", and I was immediately put in mind of the lovely lilacs I saw in some of the old fashioned cottage gardens that I sometimes see on my walks. Whilst it is autumn where I live now, I just happen to have a photograph of a beautiful lilac bearing several shades of purple in my photo archive, taken on a lovely spring stroll I took in October last year. Captured against a wonderfully clear azure sky, I thought it most suitable. I hope you like my choice for the theme and that it makes you smile!
Syringa is a genus of twelve currently recognized species of flowering woody plants in the olive family or Oleaceae called lilacs. These lilacs are native to woodland and scrub from south eastern Europe to eastern Asia, and widely and commonly cultivated in temperate areas elsewhere.
Even though the magic of birds singing and flowers blooming and green returning is still happening this spring, somehow this celebration of nature seems muffled this year by the pall of pandemic. I still admire the beauty of spring, but my heart is going out to all those who are suffering - may Heaven help us all ...
"We stand now where two roads diverge. but unlike the roads in Robert Frost's familiar poem, they are not equally fair. The road we have long been traveling is deceptively easy, a smooth superhighway on which we progress with great ease, but at its end lies disaster. The other fork of the road - the one less traveled by - offers our last, our only chance to reach a destination that assures the preservation of the earth."
~ Rachel Carson, "Silent Spring"
