The Royal Palace in Madrid as the Spring flowers bloom. I had to sneak this photo in between the rain clouds that were hovering around.
The wild flowers are out already, as soon as it warms up they spring out of the earth before the larger plants steal all the sunlight.
Subject: What's Blooming
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally spring has arrived in Raleigh, North Carolina and flowers are blooming all over. These three flowers bloomed in my yard within the past week. The tulip just opened today. With the crazy cold weather we've had here, it was the only tulip out of a dozen or so that bloomed.
What a beautiful spring evening. The floor of the forst is well alife right know while the trees are still mostly leafless so I could discover some new perspectives this evening.
This Photograph shows a NS Train passing Control Point Spring near the Mercedes Benz Stadium, not far from Centennial Olympic Park in Downtown Atlanta. I took this Photograph from the top of the Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW Bridge, of a Norfolk Southern Train passing under the M L K Jr Drive Bridge going away from me, passing Switch/Signal Control Box "SPRING".
Mercedes Benz Stadium and it's Parking Garage is in the Left Background (aka: Upper Left hand Corner) of this Photograph.
Also, in the Upper Right hand side of the photograph, (behind the Centennial Olympic Park Drive Bridge) you can see the 1966 Summer Olympic Torches in Centennial Olympic Park.
Since I was in Atlanta for a Family Wedding and was unfamiliar with the area (in lieu of the Train Number), I will supply the Roster Numbers of the three Norfolk Southern Locomotives to Identify the Train. The Locomotive Numbers were as follows: the Lead Locomotive was Number 9453, a GE Dash 9-44CW (Norfolk Southern Designation D9-44CW), the second Locomotive was Number 4056 a GE AC44C6M (Rebuilt from a NS Dash 9-40C with AC traction and GE widenose & cab) and the third Locomotive was Number 3677 a GE ET44AC. All three Locomotives were rated at 4,400 Horse Power.
Photographs of the three Locomotives appear (in my Photostream) in several preceding Photos (click on the Right Arrow to go back several Photos to see the Locomotives).
Let the fun begin, with my newly stamped #2bills . Never use them if you are in a hurry, and never joke that they are not real. One young cashier at the Michaels craft store was totally bewilder and befuddled when I tried to spent them there. The young lady just did not believe the bills were real, and kept asking if they were. I finally joked and said yes, not real - then she said “OK, will that be cash or charge?
No surprise - I have over a dozen silly stories about using the bills. And NO! I have not had anyone mention the stampings on the bills - 50 of them done for April.
Portrait macro study of some beautiful spring Hawthorn blossom. Photo taken in Barnet, Hertfordshire, UK in April 2015.
Yesterday Art walked in the house and told me I had to go check out the lilac bush, that it was covered with butterflies. He was right, there were at least a good dozen or so butterflies fluttering around and I was able to get a few decent shots too!
Yesterday was also a wonderfully warm day here in the low 80's and today looks to be pretty similar, not a bad way to welcome spring.
One of these days I'm going to get myself some filters for shooting daytime long exposures.
Love this part of the Bodelwyddan Castle gardens. This little spring runs through one part going down in steps and it is just so beautiful. I love moving water. Be it the sea or a small spring like this. I was quite pleased with the balance in this shot, even if I say so myself. I'm trying to steer away from flowers for a few shots at least...
