Im so glad that I have the pleasure to stumble upon everyone gorgeous photos, really inspired me from day one. I think the only way to improve myself is to gain the help from others, and also just stay true to myself.
Its been great so far! hope for the best yet to come!

After walking home from work today I looked like a snowman... can't wait for the time of year when I can put my winter coat away and leave the windows open at night :-) Plus come spring I'll have made some tough decisions that I'm struggling with at the moment. I wish I could take a tiny glimpse into the future to make the right decision... anyway, there's not enough time lately for new photos, so this is an old one (again!).

Gemini Springs is a park centered around its namesake spring in Debary, FL, just on the edge of the St. Johns River in Volusia County, FL. It recently came to light that land surrounding this spring which was given to the city of Debary as conservation land to ensure the continuance of flow at Gemini Springs (which was open to swimming in the nineties but had to close due to its reduced flow leading to high levels of bacteria) has been slated for construction of a housing development, which while not occupying and destroying Gemini Springs directly would such negatively affect the springshed as to perhaps fatally damage the spring over time. Centerpiece to this plan is a St. Johns Water Management District employee who has arranged for his private company to receive large payments while being employed to help orchestra this process in an obvious conflict of interest and corruption. Florida scarcely needs yet another housing community indistinguishable for all the rest and taking more and more middle class home buyers away from small towns, and irrevocably altering the environment while doing so is even more of a travesty.
This Griz was eating spring roots in an open patch of tundra in Denali National Park. This photo was taken at about 300 yards, thinking he heard the clicking of the shutter, he gave a quick glance before continuing his meal.
The sun may have disappeared for a few days but life caries on regardless. Here are some lovely little young cones adorning a fir tree. I love the little buds of new fir along the branches, easy to see how they are going to turn out. Taken at Paradise Wood, Little Wittenham.

Spring is here, and the Spring Peepers (Pseudacris crucifer)
are out in force. Once a year, the Rivanna Conservation Alliance opens the Scheier Natural Area in Fluvanna County VA at night for people to see (and hear!) the peepers and other frogs that come to the ponds there. This photo of a peeper might fill your screen, but the frog itself is only about an inch (2.5cm) long!

New leaves on one of my Acers. I couldn't help feeling that this leaf was waving happily in the sunshine...
Temperatures of slightly below 20 degrees and sunshine from the early morning till sunset. Just a fine Sunday and no doubt, spring has arrived in East-Westphalia. So it was logical that we took the day for a long hiking trip along the river Weser between Minden and Petershagen, continued the mill project with two more locations and enjoyed the sunset in Porta Westfalica along the river banks.
