Spring flowers and bright colours lift my spirits and make me happy.
Definitely Dreaming 'this makes me happy' theme.

A pair of Pileated Woodpeckers caught breeding. He was only on her for 9 seconds. Now he may have fallen off or perhaps that is as long as it takes. But I do know later after he left she was calling out. Perhaps it takes several tries to fertilize the eggs or maybe once a year is not enough.
More images to come.
In fact two different poppies, I think, on the riverside walk opposite Victoria Park. From nothing just a couple of weeks back, these giant Poppies grow to at least three feet, and are a curious mixture of strength, in the new flower buds, and fragility in the papery petals.
We found a trail from the opposite side of our normal parking lot. This trail is longer and has varied wilderness.
Really liked how the setting sun lit the new buds and how the water was utterly still.
Several photos will come from this wood.
Hope you are healthy and safe.
The forest near my hometown as it looks in the Spring :)

Spring is in the air as BNSF SD70MAC's Nos. 9646 and 8981 accelerate north up the middle of Atwood Street in Longmont, Colorado, on June 3, 2019.
Something a little different from me here, a black and white edit of a black and white bird from RSPB Bempton Cliffs at the weekend.
Spring arrives in Crane Park, Middlesex, and here’s the first sign – a riotous blackthorn in all its blossoming glory.
The straight side shoots of the blackthorn develop into sharp thorns and the bush will produce sloes in autumn. The tree can often last up to 100 years and was once used for making walking sticks and shillelaghs.
The blossom is a vital source of pollen for early bees; birds like the dense branch network for nesting and butterflies use the bush later in spring – so it’s an all-round giver!

I took that in our garden. It's always nice to see springs first messenger :-) What du you think? Does those beheadded flowers work? Personally I find that shallow depth of field kind of interesting.
Please feel free to give me some critique and feedback: Describe the image in terms of your general feeling or impression. Tell me what you like or dislike about the photograph, and why. That could help me a big deal doing better in the future. THANKS!

Two more Aquilegia photos. They're also known as Granny's bonnet and Columbine (which I somehow thought was a quite different plant). With its head lifted up, this pale pink one could almost be a child's spinning windmill.
It's a gorgeous morning as Union Pacific's Roper Yard (Salt Lake City), Utah to North Yard (Denver), Colo., manifest rounds the curve at Tolland over South Boulder Creek. The train has just met the westbound Amtrak California Zephyr.
The start of spring, a gateway to summer! Immediately to the right are a number of buildings that would house estate workers and offices to Lowther Castle. The two sandstone pillars would have been a gate leading to the nearby castle. Well worth a visit.
