This is a much different picture than what is coming out of much of the country and world. But Spring has sprung (as we say) here in Texas and the Cedar Waxwings are flocking and racing around like crazy from tree to tree devouring the red berries on the yaupons.

I should have remembered not to stand beneath a tree filled with a flock of birds, but after trying to get the red bird poop out of my hair and out of the crevices of my lens, maybe I'll remember next year. :-)

Looking Close - On Friday ~ Spring Flora

Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. Any comments or Faves are very much appreciated.

A little rose bush blooming nicely. Manually focus stacked with two extension tubes, gridded beauty dish camera right.

One of my mystery plants, planted a couple of years ago and growing nicely - and I seem to have lost the plant label. It's been flowering quietly for a few weeks, and I'd be delighted to know what it is.

Don’t worry! A little spring fever never hurt anyone!

I enjoyed my new "chucks" for a few weeks before having to stow them for summer (flip-flops are the summer shoe du jour here :-).

One of the first flowers of the year has sprung for me in our little yard.

It looked like spring would finally arrive when snows had mostly melted that day. But that was wrong. Next week winter returns with frost and snow. The mallards will obviously not be that happy of the change next week. Weather has been a real roller coater this winter.

Went to the river on Sunday, but it was so gloomy that I couldn't get a fast enough SS without a totally unusable ISO. I missed an eagle fly by AND a blue heron fly by! The only decent shot I got all morning was the brief moment I got some sun hitting these blooming wildflowers.

The famous lone tree that has been shot by many other photographers. Here is my version :)

Steptoe Butte State Park, Washington

Only had my macro lens so couldn't get any more of the display in the frame.

Stopped by a beautiful annual display of tulips and grape hyacinth near a local business briefly late on a very windy day. Unfortunately the tulips were already beginning to wilt and not at their peak beauty. Had focus issues again which I didn't realize until getting back home, very frustrating, but saving a few anyway since likely more faded now.

Thanks to everyone who faves or comments! I apologize should I miss replying to any comments.
