In our part of the country, spring passes quickly. If you haven't been out for five days, you find the trees in bud. If you don't see the trees for another five days, you discover that they've put out leaves. In another five days, they're so green you wouldn't recognize them. It makes you wonder: Can these be the same trees I saw a few days before? And you answer yourself: Of course they are. That's how fast spring goes by. You can almost see it. From far away it comes racing toward you. And when it reaches you it whispers in your ear, "I'm here," and then runs swiftly on.

This Spring/Summer I had the enjoyment to walk around my neighborhood, the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, and in my own front and back yard! Spring is such a beautiful time of year when nature brings us new life! Summer carries it on.
Here comes my contribution to fotosöndag's weekly challenge - spring.
Though at times it hasn't really been spring weather here this week....

... so decided to take a spring picture indoors. This was actually three shots (one for the actual daffodils, and two for the light painted flower which was my phone with a green or yellow screen)
Strobist info: One Godox AD200 at 1/4 power in a gridded square softbox directly over the daffodils. Exposure was 1/250s at f/14. The light flower was two shots (an 6s exposure for the green and a 1s exposure for the yellow). Flash triggered wirelessly.

My Bergenia, which have a habit of spreading and look rather dull for most of the year, come into their own in spring with these bold spires of pink flowers.
The neighbors across the street are craaaazy but they have a beautiful tree in their yard so I waited till they left and took some almost in focus shots! It was windy, ok.
A few more flowers, which have been almost impossible to photograph for the past week or so because of lots of rain and very strong wind. Although a little battered and bruised, my dark pink Magnolia is still managing to hold on to its petals.

May dawn in the park Pavlovsk, on the banks of the river Slavyanka. The foliage is emerald-light, full of new life.

Liked the way the branches and clouds were reaching up and out.

“I feel as though they are chasing us in a direction they predetermined.”
“I realized that when we fled. There are more goblins and a few orcs in the woods around us.”
“So we are being driven. I guess I should not have threw my twin blades. That was foolish.”
“It matters not Oakton. Our fate have been determined already. And I would assume we will find it shortly…”

September 1 is considered springday, 3 weeks ahead of the earth reaching its spring position with respect to the sun.
The trees also cannot wait for that and start to open their buds and roll out their leaves.

The Lilac Bushes are in both my front yard and my back yard. These particular white lilacs are in my front yard. Spring is such a beautiful time of year when nature brings us new life!
