One of my favourite signs of spring is the gradual appearance of fresh green foliage on the deciduous trees. This image was captured in the National Trust gardens of Lanhydrock, with post processing limited to reducing highlights and desaturating the green and yellows. Thanks for viewing.

Unbelievable - i really wasn't sure if this is flickr worthy, i was thinking about uploading or not.
This is a photo I imagined many times, but it proved much more difficult to capture (and this still does not do justice to the real thing).
People always talk about "fall colors", and they are certainly worth talking about, but there are also spring colors - at least in the north-eastern United States.
Each species of maple and all the trees that make catkins come out with their own shade of brown/red/orange/yellow/green flowers or twigs before the leaves appear, and it is just magical to watch these subtle colors take over the grays and browns of winter.
I am not sure how well it was captured in this picture, but from left to right along the far bank of the lake there is a willow (green twigs), an ornamental bush (yellow twigs), a maple (orange flowers) and another maple (red flowers). Every year, this lineup caught my attention - subtle but gorgeous!
If you walk about 50 feet left from where this picture was taken, the colors form an almost perfect gradient.

You can see a partially broken concrete ring around the actual spring. The flow goes to the right (out of view) and into Sixmile Creek just a few feet away.
There is a small time overlap when wild flowers in Norcal coast is blooming and Milky Way core is visible each year. I had wanted this shot (spring wild flowers, cliff, and milky way in one shot) for a while. I attempted last week when the wild flowers are in peak, unfortunately it was overcast, and I am pretty happy to get it in this weekend before the flowers are gone.
This particularly shot was taken in HITW beach in Santa Cruz with F2.8, 30 sec, ISo 3200; while the foreground was taken about 15 minutes later when the blue hour just started in F16, 5 mins, ISO 800. Processed in CC 2015 and Nik.

Spring is already here. The California Central Valley has lots of almonds trees. On Saturday we drove to a rocket launch at Snow Ranch, a big 7000 acres farm east of Stockton. On the way back near sunset we stopped to enjoy the many rows of almond trees.
I processed a balanced and a paintery HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

It's finally light out late enough to come home from work and still have time to do a little photography.
Spring flowers in my garden, Bedfordshire, 21 Feb 2019
Spring seems to have come very early on my light sandy soil (AKA dirt).
The snowdrops are still out, having given weeks of flower. The crocuses are early. They are normally in this state at the end of first week in March.

Spring in Boulder brings the heaviest snows. From April 15-17 fourteen inches accumulated in my yard (it was melting as it accumulated), over 30 in Nederland and Ward, and over 40 inches in the northern ski areas.

This Spring/Summer I had the enjoyment to walk around my neighborhood, the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, and in my own front and back yard! These particular Tulips were in the neighborhood. Spring is such a beautiful time of year when nature brings us new life! Summer carries it on.
