Looking Close - On Friday ~ Spring Flora
Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. Any comments or Faves are very much appreciated.
This is my other Magnolia, the deeper pink variety, also having a good year. A much younger plant, the blooms are rather easier to reach than the pale pink one, so I don't need the stepladder...
Forest spring –composed from some larger and a number of smaller springs - broke out at Fényes-springs marshland and carries nearly 3000 m3 karstic water daily. By the intensively flowing water alder trees are becoming extinct on an ever extending area.

Went to the river on Sunday, but it was so gloomy that I couldn't get a fast enough SS without a totally unusable ISO. I missed an eagle fly by AND a blue heron fly by! The only decent shot I got all morning was the brief moment I got some sun hitting these blooming wildflowers.
Frogs arrived in our pond more than two weeks ago during a brief mild spell. Since then, the weather has been freezing with overnight frosts, but the frogs have stayed put in spite of the cold. This morning really does feel more like a spring temperature and once again the frogs are activated and busy with their annual activities. It's a topsy turvy season but I hope their newly laid spawn will be successful this time. Photographing frogs through plastic mesh netting [ for protection from cats ] is fraught with difficulty. I did just manage a snap this morning but getting the camera through a narrow gap without disturbing the frog requires patience and a steady hand. This shot is clearly quite an enlargement but I only managed the one snap before froggy submerged. I enjoyed the reflection of the adjacent palm tree at the back of the frog's head.
This water is not supposed to be here! In beautiful weather with no wind, there were huge waves pushing water into the land. A fascinating sight!
Only had my macro lens so couldn't get any more of the display in the frame.
Stopped by a beautiful annual display of tulips and grape hyacinth near a local business briefly late on a very windy day. Unfortunately the tulips were already beginning to wilt and not at their peak beauty. Had focus issues again which I didn't realize until getting back home, very frustrating, but saving a few anyway since likely more faded now.

I'm still not up to the present year, I'm afraid. Just remembering the trips back home from school along the lakefront last year. Riding the kids home from school is one of my favorite things. With spring in full bloom we weren't in a big rush to get home.
After the winter darkness, along with the spring warmth and the spring sun, the spring onion also comes. This yellow beauty that in my garden coexists with the Scilla flowers, similar to the previous picture where the Scilla in the foreground was backed up by the spring onion there in the background. Here the spring onion is in low key with its pistil shining like a beacon for pollinators to be attracted by.... Ah, beautiful spring, so welcome You and Your flower disciples are... 😊😍
I don't know what kind of flowers these are, but I thought they were just adorable. So sweet and pretty.
