Springtime is trying to take over and winter is stubbornly slipping away. Before we know it, it's going to be 90 degrees and 90% humidity outside! I'm trying to enjoy these 60 degree days while I can!

My review of this lens is now up here!
It feels great to see so many early blooming flowers everywhere. Springtime is really on our doorstep.
Yesterday morning I found this Fritillaria in one of the meadows at work. Using the long telephoto lens, I was able to make this composition. I used the light of my iPhone to accentuate the yellow stems inside the flower from below. The low sun provided the lovely bokeh ball-effect of the morning dewdrops in the background.
Enjoy!

Magnolia is an ancient genus. Appearing before bees did, the flowers evolved to encourage pollination by beetles. [...] Another aspect of Magnolias that is considered to represent an ancestral state is that the flower bud is enclosed in a bract rather than in sepals; the perianth parts are undifferentiated and called tepals rather than distinct sepals and petals.

the spring is here. "my" tree that I shot 2 years ago, uploaded in this site, is still there. Strong, alone and beautiful. Is the life stronger in Nature than in Human?
