Springtime in the Betuwe region,Netherlands

Yesterday we visited Pinetum Gardens near St. Austell

But certainly not here in reality . Its been Rain Rain Rain non-stop for three days.

I created this quilt for an upcoming bridal shower! I used a Jelly Roll of the Verna fabric line by Kate Spain, Kona cotton in Snow and a pattern called Strip Stacks by GE Quilt Designs.

The quilt was a lot of fun to make and pretty easy. I added the white outside border (not originally in the pattern), used a wide blue binding, and pieced the back. I quilted it with a meandering free motion pattern.

The quilt measures about 55 by 75 inches. I hope the happy couple enjoys it!

Delivered to the airline in November 2011. Painted in special Hobbit livery from November 2012 to September 2016. Stored at Victorville since August 2020.

The early evening Springtime sun is low in the sky as the returning Saphos trains "Shakespeare Express" with Black 5 No 45231 in charge approaches Danzey in Warwickshire. 19-03-22.

It's great to see these mantid hunters return in spring. Best details on enlarging.

Taken through my static caravan window at Looe. (I keep this one clean!) He has spotted the freshly filled nut feeder and is pretending he is not there in this photo, by sitting very still. The Hawthorn tree he is sitting in is beautiful.
