Today was a very rainy grey and ugly day. So what could be better than dreaming of delicate flowers blooming in the springtime sun?
Springtime in the gardens of Anglesey Abbey in Lode, Cambridgeshire. A lot of the spring flowers had gone over but the tree blossom was wonderful.
I had high hopes for the Spring of 2025. The beauty was even more fleeting this year with dismal weather and one of the coldest months of May that I can remember.
It’s Iris Time: My backyard garden has now added these gorgeous, velvety, frilly purple Irises. They are opening a few at a time. Anemonas Blanda are also called Greek Anemones, but I had never had the luck to meet them there...And they are SOOO adorably BLUE!!! And they are SOOO majestically formed in their...tinyess!!! Every time I see them in my computer, I feel blessings in my heart!! Bless them!!
In the garden they are about 10 plants of them , and although I am in the process of tidying up the borders, they look so brilliant, even among the dry and dead leaves and branches..Such cute babies!!

It was a pretty day today, but you could tell we were going to get some kind of weather with the thunderheads built up over the mountains - and we just had a big thunderstorm with a little bit of hail.
Forsythia are one of my favorite springtime flowers. These were captured at my sister's home back in 2011, when she still lived in northern Wisconsin.
After our two beautiful days to herald the arrival of Spring, today is back to Winter - cold and at the moment it is pouring. This is a full frame photo and was taken with my 75-300 mm lens and all three Kenko extension tubes. These African daisies are in a neighbour's garden and mine have never curled like these. I may have to ask for a cutting lol.

The grass in the park was sparkling in the sun due to the early morning mist. A couple of old leaves break up all the green with its bright colours.

I took the photo with my Fujifilm camera with the kit lens, and did very little editing of my RAW image in Capture One Fujifilm Express (which is free to use). I set my camera to take JPG images at the same time, so I can delete unsuitable images straightaway on my PC, before loading the RAW ones in C1. The RAW ones are huge - about 55MB each!
I've still got my Canon 5D Mk2 with several lenses which took beautiful photos also. However, I spent much more time perfecting them in Lightroom (adjusting colour, etc.), so I save a lot of time using Fujifilm plus C1. I'm thinking about getting a Fringer adapter for the X-T3 to use my Canon lenses on it.
