Es ist Frühling.
Die Vögel tun’s.
Die Bienen tun’s.
Die Schmetterlinge tun’s.
Ich möchte auch – aber ich kann nicht fliegen. :-))

Wünsche Euch einen schönen Sonntag!
This is from a few years ago which has never seen the light of day. Found it whilst having a tidy up of the hard drive.
The Cheekwood Estate outside of Nashville, Tennessee is a 55-acre estate and botanical garden built by the Maxwell House Coffee fortune, and one of the finest examples of an American Country Place Era Estate in the United States. In springtime, the green of the trees and the riot of colors from the flowers in bloom (especially their tulips) are truly a site to behold. Get there on a blue-sky day, and it's extra special to be sure.
Metrosideros thomasii is in bloom once again and attracting the insects and nectar loving birds.
Deep red fluffy flowers on this very dense shrub. No problem coping with the coastal winds and exposed site in this location. These shrubs provide ideal refuge for native birds who love the nectar.
Here one can see buds, full flowers and spent flowers.
Roughly in the centre of the shot one can see male (red) and female (orange) cotton harlequin bugs (Tectocoris diophthalmus).

Such a lovely day in North Yorkshire today that this Oil Seed Rape field was just asking to be photographed, hope I didn't disappoint.
Here's a sneak preview of the cookies for the auction. I still am finishing details on 75 flower cookies and then it will all be assembled on a giant platter for the dessert table. The cafe table with the umbrella cookie is taken directly from a backdrop a mom painted that will be part of our decor in the gym. She'll be very surprised to see her creation in cookie form!!
One sunset, 4 focal lengths. The extremes are, apparently most interesting as entirely different pictures: while wideangle is often a landscape 'default', the closer look explains why telephoto is just as essential for landscape photography.
Here's the perennial absentee showing up again.
I hope everyone's doing great!
I am fine. Life happened.
And it is great!
I miss each and every one of you... I will try to be by your streams. I know I have missed a lot. Your friendship most especially.

Rio Grande 5386 leads a nice looking trio of tunnel motors east through Spring Glen with the days Dirt Train.
