Luke awash amongst a sea of bluebells......

Metrosideros thomasii is in bloom once again and attracting the insects and nectar loving birds.

Deep red fluffy flowers on this very dense shrub. No problem coping with the coastal winds and exposed site in this location. These shrubs provide ideal refuge for native birds who love the nectar.

Here one can see buds, full flowers and spent flowers.

Roughly in the centre of the shot one can see male (red) and female (orange) cotton harlequin bugs (Tectocoris diophthalmus).

That's how springtime looks like in Salzburg.

Framed by a branch of Bradford Pears, the '01 makes an impressive scene during a photo runby on the return trip from Summerville.

Such a lovely day in North Yorkshire today that this Oil Seed Rape field was just asking to be photographed, hope I didn't disappoint.

Here's a sneak preview of the cookies for the auction. I still am finishing details on 75 flower cookies and then it will all be assembled on a giant platter for the dessert table. The cafe table with the umbrella cookie is taken directly from a backdrop a mom painted that will be part of our decor in the gym. She'll be very surprised to see her creation in cookie form!!

One sunset, 4 focal lengths. The extremes are, apparently most interesting as entirely different pictures: while wideangle is often a landscape 'default', the closer look explains why telephoto is just as essential for landscape photography.

Here's the perennial absentee showing up again.

I hope everyone's doing great!

I am fine. Life happened.

And it is great!

I miss each and every one of you... I will try to be by your streams. I know I have missed a lot. Your friendship most especially.

Springtime in Canada.

Springtime comes to the Oklahoma Cross Timbers on its own terms. In fits and tantrums of late freezes, wind and balmy calm days punctuated with thunderstorms and tornadoes. But, Spring always comes and the actors are always the same. Black-and-white warbler in new oak leaves with blooms. Our beautiful world, pass it on.
