Magnolia is an ancient genus. Appearing before bees did, the flowers evolved to encourage pollination by beetles. [...] Another aspect of Magnolias that is considered to represent an ancestral state is that the flower bud is enclosed in a bract rather than in sepals; the perianth parts are undifferentiated and called tepals rather than distinct sepals and petals.

Today was a very rainy grey and ugly day. So what could be better than dreaming of delicate flowers blooming in the springtime sun?

One of my favourite Springtime trees.

Springtime in the gardens of Anglesey Abbey in Lode, Cambridgeshire. A lot of the spring flowers had gone over but the tree blossom was wonderful.

I had high hopes for the Spring of 2025. The beauty was even more fleeting this year with dismal weather and one of the coldest months of May that I can remember.

Springtime is trying to take over and winter is stubbornly slipping away. Before we know it, it's going to be 90 degrees and 90% humidity outside! I'm trying to enjoy these 60 degree days while I can!

My review of this lens is now up here!

Springtime at Quarry Bank mill ,Styal Cheshire.

Anemonas Blanda are also called Greek Anemones, but I had never had the luck to meet them there...And they are SOOO adorably BLUE!!! And they are SOOO majestically formed in their...tinyess!!! Every time I see them in my computer, I feel blessings in my heart!! Bless them!!

In the garden they are about 10 plants of them , and although I am in the process of tidying up the borders, they look so brilliant, even among the dry and dead leaves and branches..Such cute babies!!

Sending you ...Springtime feelings and sensations, with love!!

It was a pretty day today, but you could tell we were going to get some kind of weather with the thunderheads built up over the mountains - and we just had a big thunderstorm with a little bit of hail.

The time of year is unmistakable from the blooming trees.

Forsythia are one of my favorite springtime flowers. These were captured at my sister's home back in 2011, when she still lived in northern Wisconsin.

These lovely violas are making a beautiful splash of colour outside my living room window just now.

After visiting the small station yard 52044 departs from Oakworth and heads towards the gathered photographers round the corner at Mytholmes

Canadian Geese strolling along besides Lake Erie near Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada.

I love this time of year =)

I was out today working in

my flower garden & heard thunder,

spring showers catch me there often lol

I took this image before gathering my

things & heading indoors, I admit that I

did have to play in the rain a little first =)

Wishing you all a

beautiful day / night
