Near Col de Sommeiller.

I saw the biker coming, and waved him to make a nice splash for me, and so he did!

Three weeks of hiking and biking in France/Italy/Switzerland.

Water drop hiting a spout from a previous droplet.... All genuine colour, no mucking about in photoshop.

You really should view itLarge On Black

It looks like glass.

40% acetic acid solution with green dye dropping into black dyed water. Frosted perspex behind droplet with Speedlite 430EXII (1/64th power) with Orange Gel pointed down and Vivitar 285 (minimum power) pointed up, flashes sat on top of each other. Fired with manual push button trigger wired into pc-sync hot-shoes.

As a kid I used to spend quite some time near the ford at Rufford Mill - most people would drive through it at a pedestrian pace, but some people would see the people watching on the footbridges at the side and race through to create a big splash.

These days I'm generally the one either cycling* or driving through the water (as fast as I dare because I'm still a big kid) - but tonight whilst walking I thought I'd spectate again.

* waterproof socks are great! :)

Photo for project, Have to do some self portraits so you'll see a couple more uploaded this week, Here's one though; quite funny..

Done by using a tripod and a remote shutter release cable on a 10second count down..

My friend stood on a ladder out of the frame and threw a bucket of water onto me..(It's November so believe me when I say it was freezing!!!!)

Thanks to Matt Pollard for assisting at throwing the water on my head.. could'nt have done it without him..- www.flickr.com/mrpphotography

Little bit of splash and mirroring.

Shot taken at Tansa wildlife sanctuary Shahapur Maharashtra India.

One of the less splashy, water-droplets-everywhere, images I captured. The head of the splash is slightly off to the side because the second droplet came down off to the right slightly.

Each one of these images is special and unique.

Shot using a Tokina AT-X 90mm f2.5 Macro lens.

Although the water drop isn't in focus, I was quite pleased with the reflection in this one...

Primeira experiência com splash.

A small potato dropped in a glass of water.

Yeah, i went ahead and tried some experiment in splash photography, that too first time.. :).. This is one from the series. I chose to use raw green lemon instead of the ripe yellow one as I believe that GREEN is more appealing to eyes that a pale yellow..:). Hope you guys like it..

An ocean wave is frozen mid-splash.

Pools of Mokolea, Kauai, Hawaii. There are some "Thor's Well" like view in Hawaii. This one in Kauai is rarely visited by photographer. It was more difficult than I expected getting to this lava sinkhole. The dirt road getting there was flooded so I had to park one mile away from the parking lot and hiked on the muddy road. The weather was not very cooperating. But the tide was at the right level that I can take this "splashing" view instead of something classic as water flowing back into the well.

Strawberry dropped into spoon with milk.

It took like 50 shots to get the nice splash... milk was everywhere :)

ODC - Celebration. So the kids picked out new decorations this year, and this one was my choice :)

Haven't done a drop/splash shot for a while and I wanted to see if perhaps that was where I left my mojo - had a bit of a wobble a couple of days ago...

Spent a pleasant rainy morning dropping more things in water

Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex, England

Spent Saturday out in the Yorkshire Dales with a fellow photographer. I'm really not into landscapes so had to find some action shots :)

The water was splashing here every so often
