Splash from the fountain at Big Spring Creek at Cotter , Ar.

A local jumps into the harbour in Wellington, New Zealand. Jumping into water seems to be the second national sport in NZ, well behind rugby and just in front of cricket.

My first experiment with water drops with my new Fuji X-M1.

Waiting for the Drop

A welcome splash of colour on an otherwise gray day as the local service railcar departs Lukavac. The real object of interest was in the background - the Kriegslok waiting to leave with empties for the Sikulje coal mine. Near Tuzla, Bosnia, February 2015. © Photo: David Hill.

Rain chains are a beautiful and functional alternative to traditional, closed gutter downspouts. Guiding rain water visibly down chains or cups from the roof to the ground, rain chains transform a plain gutter downspout into a pleasing water feature. From the soft tinkling of individual droplets to the soothing rush of white water, they are a treat to listen to.

Rain chains (‘kusari doi’ in Japanese) in concept are not a new idea. For hundreds of years, the Japanese have used the roof of their homes to collect water, transporting it downward with chains and finally depositing the rain water into large barrels for household water usage. Japanese temples often incorporate quite ornate and large rain chains into their design.

These chains can be made from decorative metal cups, the chain in the photo however is a heavy-duty linked chain that deposits the rain water from a part of the roof into my garden pond.

Here is another Cookie Splash!

We made this here this morning with this Starbucks Coffee Cup. It was just so funny taking this picture, we had a few problems at the beginning, I wasn't able to capture it the way we wanted so we tryed it a couple of times, until we took this one here. It isn't such a big splash like the others we made but exactly this makes this picture so interessting, the splash looks really crazy, it was just the beginning of it.

This picture was also made with one shot. Feel free to comment, if you like it please add it to your faves.

My first ever attempt on cookie splashing. :)

Lazy Sunday playing around with some metallic paints.

Splashart kit used to drop blue paint onto an orange drop already placed on a piece of Perspex.

2 x Yongnuo YN560IV's at either side of drop. 1/128 @ 24mm and with bounce cards out. I'll post a pic of the setup in the comments.

My first attempt at splash photography. What a mess! 😮

Splash was created by a stone :))

On the other side of the lake not far from where this young swan was floating along there was a little girl. She was only about three years of age and dressed in a tiny pair of wellies she surprised her mum and possibly herself by jumping in a very small puddle. I obviously found this entertaining but more so when this young swan started splashing about. As if to say anything you can do ....... I can do better ...... and my mum doesn't tell me off :)

Derrame y Splash de color

I had left the flash out after my Macro Monday feather shot so thought I'd have a go at capturing some splashy stuff with the macro lens. My fav bit of this is the reflection of the droplets in the liquid, although the amount of splash is pretty cool too! Time to go tidy up now!

An inca tern splashes down in the water at Living Coasts.

Taken with an old Canon FD 70-210 f/4 lens on my Sony NEX-6 - manual focus, so there's a lot of luck involved, but it worked out for this one!

Built this one a year ago, just stumbled upon the picture when I was organizing some files. I never uploaded it thinking I'd redo it (the legs/skirt part is dreadful), but didn't get around to it.

This image, which I have not shared before, has been a personal favorite for a long time. I felt like my photo stream could use a splash of color today.

52 Still Lifes: 14/52: Splash.

Un show!!!
