I think I will shoot this again soon.... There are a few little things I'm not thrilled with - I should've tried some gelled backgrounds, its not as sharp blown up as I'd like. But I'm liking the milk and fire combo - I'm weird like that.
Strobist Info - Snooted SB600 at white background at 1/32nd. SB600 through gridded softbox frame left at 1/4 with a reflector in the right.
I went to a pet store and bought my self a small fishtank ..just to shoot splash photos ... I´m positve that it gives a better result than my flower vase :P
But I still need more lights and I think I have to learn more about how to use them ... any advice ?

It took a little while to get this - as best I could - as Joshua was my "strawberry dropper," this morning!! Nonetheless, we caught a splash!!

milk with a drop of food colouring. lighting is camera flash plus a couple of table lamps, but I think the trick to getting good frozen splashes is a dark room and flash only... a learning experience, like all photography!
After lots and lots of tries, finally got the milk to splash in the exact spot i was looking for.
If you're wondering about the purple flower thingy in the shot....the milk splash was done on a platter with purple flowers on it....i had to keep dropping the milk on the plate till i found the flower...then moving the drop little by little until i got it right above a flower....then of course, i had to get the timing down pat.

Over the last couple of months, John Brew has been hosting an OffShoot photography session to shoot water droplets. John has built his own water droplet machine and the result have been pretty spectacular (perhaps not mine!).
This is the result of smashing a second drop of water into another that landed in the milk bath a few milliseconds earlier.
Essential ingredients: milk, food colouring, a couple of Speedlites and, of course, JB's magnificent droplet machine.

Minha primeira tentativa.
Frustrada, óbvio.
Mas valeu.
A tendência é melhorar, ou não!
HAHAHAH
boa noite!
