Low angle and close to the water, catching a breaking wave. The splattering was a little present....
Photo of a drop of milk splashing into yellow food coloring. For information on the setup, see the description in the similar recent photo. Here is the link:
A Pacific golden plover overlooks a tide pool to see what bounty a wave might hurl into the intertidal splash zone. Most kolea I have observed establish territorial fidelity at inland grassy areas. This one earns its classification as a shorebird. A superb navigator, the kolea (Pluvialis fulva) annually migrates from Alaska and to tropical Pacific islands on a high endurance non-stop flight of 3 to 4 days over thousands of miles of featureless open ocean. Using the stars and the earth’s magnetic field (perhaps visually with magnetoreception in cryptochrome molecules in the eye) to precisely find its destination.
needless to say leon loves bathing.... i have a bunch of even funnier pics in the tub, but well, he is obviously naked, so i chose this one
This is my first go with the SplashArt Kit MKII taken on the 10th feb 2016.
I just used water, just to see what I could do? I am going to need to find out more about set ups.
Splish...Splash, Nancy thought for sure that I was going to take a bath - or a swim in the ocean.....

While experimenting with dripping water on a tomato, I captured this perfect circular splash. My entry for Flickr Friday, week of August 8 - 14, 2020.

Water drop hits the water surface.
Did a bit of wave watching while I was on Ballaugh shore. This one was toppling over as it moved to the right. I liked the way the ligh caught some of the drops and the crest of the wave.
Diese Ente im Gegenlicht hat kräftig ins Wasser geschlagen, um das Gefieder zu pflegen.
This duck in the back light hit strongly into the water, in order to maintain the plumage.

Using Splash Art Kit to create this splash. Using the drop tap using red food dye water into a weak solution of blue food dye water into a small cone shape glass bowl.. Using 3 SB200 flash units, one clear, one with blue gel and one with orange gel.
Ok so I went all silly at the beginning of this month and splashed (grin) out on a lovely shiny new Canon EOS 550D (Rebel T2i).. Ooh it's lovely, 18.7 megapixels and HD Video. Now I just have to sell my 450D to help pay for it!
I just had to take some splashes with it.. This one is pretty much straight out of camera, no changes, just converted the RAW, small amount of sharpening and a tweak to the levels to get the colours back a bit.
Strobist Info : Canon Speedlite 580EX-II with light blue gel firing from about 40cm up down at 45 degrees. 430 EX-II below it firing directly into the back of the splash with a frosted perspex diffuser about 30cm in front of them. (All behind the splash).

My annual upload of a poppy field for Remembrance Sunday, and a splash of red added to my photostream. This display of poppies suddenly appeared opposite Bickton College in south east Devon and was a magnet for local togs throughout its duration in early June. Thanks for looking.
The idea came from the may edition of "Digital Photo". We set it up outside and had great fun doing it.
That is because this area is known as " The Splash " !
Shot taken for Saturday Self Challenge 21/08/2021 -- Seats , Benches or Anything Designed To Be Sat On .
Well here we are down at The Splash by the River Mole ( a trip just to get a seat/bench shot for SSC ) with a couple of benches to sit on and watch the river flowing past on it's journey to where it flows into the River Thames . A simple shot for the challenge , started out thinking of all sorts of sitting on things such as the seat of a Harley Davidson , a vintage tractor seat or even an abandoned old loo - alas ( or fortunately as the case may be ) I did not see any of these grand ideas so here we are at my stand-by shot . In the first comment box is a shot of the same two seats taken a while ago in more soggier times !!
As a last thought I have added in the second comment box an alternative something designed to sit on although this was taken some time back
Seems a Mr. N . Young did a tune to fit this scene ---------

Marine iguana (Amblyrhynchus cristatus) - Santiago island, Galapagos National Park, Ecuador
Seeing these majestic lizards lounge on the lava was one thing, seeing them moving through the water and along the waters edge getting washed over by waves was something else! I really enjoyed photograhing this marine iguana who had picked a perch that was out of the reach of most waves, but occasionally a bigger swell would come in and soak the lizard whose only reaction was to close his eyes before the water hit. These iguanas are certainly no stranger to water, they are the only marine iguanas and their diet is entirely made up of algae that grows both in the splash zone and even underwater, where these lizards will dive down to in order to feed.
Once again the time of various mid-winter festivals pervade the place.
During the reign of Henry VIII, Father Christmas was pictured as a large man in green or scarlet robes lined with fur. He typified the spirit of good cheer at Christmas, bringing peace, joy, good food and wine and revelry. As England no longer kept the feast day of Saint Nicholas on 6 December, the Father Christmas celebration was moved to 25 December to coincide with Christmas Day.
