Does anyone know/love the movie Splash with Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah? www.imdb.com/title/tt0088161/
I always loved that film!
Anyway this picture was taken by the lake and it was a bit of a messy job because my sis and I weren't dressed to be around water.
I took a lot of photos and I think this one is the best since you can clearly see the drops of water flying everywhere from when the wave hit :-)
I went out looking for a sunset and found a splash landing by a swan. Taking photographs is so unpredictable.
splashing water is so beautiful when backlit.made with a speed light behind a white paper background. no front lighting required. the little crystals ended up all over the place as the water sent them flying
Wind brought some big surf today at Laupahoehoe Point Beach Park on the Big Island’s Hamakua Coast (east shore) - Hawaii.

Crotons are a tropical plant that love warm weather but will also grow as an indoor plant in other climates. In a tropical garden setting they are most colourful if grown in shade for at least half a day and its in these shady spots they provide splashes of colour. There are hundreds of varieties of Crotons, with varying leaf shapes and colours.
It was the first time I ever seen the Red-billed Starlings. Watching them having fun taking a bath was really a treat for me.
Qué difÃcil el tema de la semana. Pero divertido, la parte de organizarlo y hacerlo, porque limpiarlo menos. Además, me temo que voy a comer tortilla unos cuantos dÃas!!

Down on the beach for a wander. The waves were splashing gently on the shore and it was a peaceful afternoon.
My first try of a splash. Hmm, that isn't a splash realy but a kind of this, it was done with a effervescent tablet in a glas of water. I think it's not the best, but its okay. =)

Macro Mondays - In Between
Me habÃa olvidado lo rico que es éste desayuno, aunque al mate con tortas fritas no lo cambio por nada, pero iba a ser dÃficil un splash con esa combinación :)

Well, I thought I don't need this lens anymore.
No, just kidding, it's a fake lens but I wish I had this lens for real :D
I saw something like this on Tumblr and I wanted to try it. :)
Another drip shot from my last attempt. This time with a pink food box over the top of the flash....
Macro Monday's and the theme of "Sphere".
For this week's theme I envisioned finding one of the clear marbles that I own and I had the intention of going out and shooting some traffic trails which would show up in the centre of the marble. Could I find it? No, having moved house twice recently it eluded me.
With not much time left I quickly set up a flash and found a set of sport themed erasers that I bought a few years ago which contained a football (soccer ball for our American friends).
I found a clear plastic lid and poured a small amount of water onto it and then had a bit of fun dropping the eraser onto it for a splash.
My 5 year old son Max was fascinated as to why I was getting everything wet with splashes.

Happy New Year 2011! Hope you had a very festive end of the year. I wish you all the best for this new year.
I will start this new year with a dramatic Mauritian seascape, many thanks to my Mauritian Flickr buddy Jean-Marc (stuckinparadise) who took me to this fantastic isolated place south of the island, far from the touristy sandy beaches.
