Merged from two shots with a little help of Photoshop.

The sliced apple with some supports was placed on the white acrylic reflective plate. Behind the apple I placed a white cartoon bended at the direction of a camera. Also on the left side there was a white cartoon for reflecting the light.

I used two flashes. The Yongnuo YN560 III was placed between the apple and the white background. The second flash on the right side with a transparent umbrella. A wireless triggers Yongnuo RF-603C II were used to activate the flashes.

The first shot was done quite conventionally. For the second shot I used water on the acrylic plate and a ball. Both flashes were set to the multi mode. I threw the ball into the water and tried to catch a splash.

I just like the water movement on this one, although you can kind of see her paw. :)

Small choppy waves were crashing into the breakwater right at sunset. Most of these rocks will be underwater at when the tide comes all the way in.

Sam has never liked baths. I think he didn't like laying back in the little tub we used to put him in. He wouldn't cry or scream, but he just seemed to want it over as soon as possible.

But now he's in the big bathtub and sits up and plays with this toys and splashes around. He just loves it. He laughs really hard and kicks his legs around. He seems to never want to get out now.

Big waves crashing at Windansea beach splashing over the famous hut. La Jolla, California

Yesterday the FFM met at Barwon Heads for a wander down to the various beaches here. This is beside the pier next to Diver Dan's Boatshed (Sea Change TV series reference). The tide was coming in strongly with a high surf splashing against the sea wall. I was fast enough to catch the wave and get a little bit wet but not drenched.

It was surprising to see how high the tide was.

On a beautiful, bright and cool afternoon on the Bellarine Peninsula with friends. Thank you Jette for driving. It is so lovely to get out into the fresh clean air and smell the sea.

A splash shot for macromonday, seen this done so many times before, but given the great fun theme this week, I thought I would have a go.

After a burst of shots, in the time this was the one I liked the most.

Taken for the Macro Mondays : "Water Play".

Happy macro Monday and thanks for looking!

P.S: due to general interest request, no, the camera didn't get wet. The photographer, though, wasn't as lucky.

Picture included in the Your senator needs an iPod. Check it out! And thanks a lot to Der Plau, without whom I'd die without knowing about it.

I waited a long time to get a shot like this, and the high shutter speed ensured I got frozen

A Pacific golden plover overlooks a tide pool to see what bounty a wave might hurl into the intertidal splash zone. Most kolea I have observed establish territorial fidelity at inland grassy areas. This one earns its classification as a shorebird. A superb navigator, the kolea (Pluvialis fulva) annually migrates from Alaska and to tropical Pacific islands on a high endurance non-stop flight of 3 to 4 days over thousands of miles of featureless open ocean. Using the stars and the earth’s magnetic field (perhaps visually with magnetoreception in cryptochrome molecules in the eye) to precisely find its destination.

Another one from my recent outing to Cape Disappointment.

Fountain water splash at Forest Glade Gardens, Mt Macedon

Spent some time on the beach this afternoon and as ever it was glorious. I gave the Sigma 60mm an airing, as I don't think I've used it at all this year … shame on me, coz it's a nice lens.

Medley of fruits splashed in water.

Seals and sealions on the rocks.

I think I will shoot this again soon.... There are a few little things I'm not thrilled with - I should've tried some gelled backgrounds, its not as sharp blown up as I'd like. But I'm liking the milk and fire combo - I'm weird like that.
