Took this last year for a magazine article which has now been published in DSLR User magazine (March 2010 edition) in the UK. I wrote a step-by-step description of how to take this type of shot, complete with behind-the-scenes and resulting images.
For a setup shot click here or better yet, buy DSLR User mag and read the article!!
I dropped the strawberry into a small spoon from a height of about 18 inches. Most of the times I missed, but occasionally I was successfull. The only way for the cream to make a splash is if the strawberry to land from a distance. The spoon contained Marks and Spencers Single Cream.

The 2 x SB28 flashguns were triggered by the StopShot electronic trigger system. They were connected to the StopShot via a Hama 3-way Sync adapter and about 1 million PC-Sync cables :)
The StopShot vendor is Cognisys (www.cognisys-inc.com).
I did this in complete darkness using BULB mode. Yes it was a big mess to clean up afterwards :(

At a low point of view the falling droplets look like small water explosions.

Dew drops in the meadow. I was not sure if you would allow this photo as it is not of the current week. This past week it has been so hot that dew drops were not easy to come by. I would totally understand if you deleted this according to the rules.
What was usually a creek had turned into a small river due to the heavy overnight rain fall.
Still the special stage went ahead providing an interesting challenge for the participants - and some interesting photo opportunities too... :-)
While smaller cars struggled, the WRC cars all mastered it without issue. Here a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 6 takes its turn.

A cast net thrown by a cormorant fisherman hits the water in a perfect circle creating myriad water droplets. His trained cormorants sitting on his bamboo raft appear quite unperturbed by the activity. Limestone karst mountains, palm trees and a bit of smoke from cooking fires complete this traditional scene. Li River near Xingping Fishing Village, Guangxi, China.

I used to have an obsession with dropping things into water and taking pictures of the drops. But I didn't really understand lighting back then.
Not that I do now, but I have the basics :P
Geek info: 2 x Flashguns, either side both through directional snoots (to keep the background as dark as possible) @ 1/4 power each

I waited a long time to get a shot like this, and the high shutter speed ensured I got frozen

A welcome splash of red at St Erth. The usual diet of GWR green is kicked into touch with the debranded Transport for Wales livery in town. Get your shots whilst you can as the word on the street is that the red door and cab end flashes are going to be painted green.
