Splash was created by a stone :))

Here is another Cookie Splash!

We made this here this morning with this Starbucks Coffee Cup. It was just so funny taking this picture, we had a few problems at the beginning, I wasn't able to capture it the way we wanted so we tryed it a couple of times, until we took this one here. It isn't such a big splash like the others we made but exactly this makes this picture so interessting, the splash looks really crazy, it was just the beginning of it.

This picture was also made with one shot. Feel free to comment, if you like it please add it to your faves.

My first experiment with water drops with my new Fuji X-M1.

Cada milésimo de segundo da gota caindo faz diferença na forma que terá o splash, misturando cores vibrantes que resultam em imagens extraordinárias, cuja interpretação fica a critério de cada um de nós.

30/52: I'm a bit behind on posting but I have still been shooting, I promise! I shot this earlier this month at Windansea Beach in La Jolla.

Another shot from the splash photography meetup I attended with my photography group.

On the other side of the lake not far from where this young swan was floating along there was a little girl. She was only about three years of age and dressed in a tiny pair of wellies she surprised her mum and possibly herself by jumping in a very small puddle. I obviously found this entertaining but more so when this young swan started splashing about. As if to say anything you can do ....... I can do better ...... and my mum doesn't tell me off :)

My first attempt to do some splash photography.

Getting the background black was the easy part: low ISO, small aperture and fast shutter.

Hard part was the focus and making sure the drop landed on the same spot I focused on. After trying several method I ended up what a Crazy Machines-like contraption made out of a fly swatter, a couple of books and a piece of string 😄

Hardest part however was the timing. As the flash was in HSS, spray and pray wasn't an option as the flash needed to recycle every 1 or 2 photos.

After 500+ photos, I had a couple of photos that stood out.

Off the studio photography...in natural daylight.

No Photoshop effect added!

I took some pictures of some water droplets yesterday for a first time in a while. It took quite a bit of time (and 989 photos on quick-shoot) to get the shot I wanted but I got it in the end. Happy Slider Sunday! :)

Built this one a year ago, just stumbled upon the picture when I was organizing some files. I never uploaded it thinking I'd redo it (the legs/skirt part is dreadful), but didn't get around to it.

Molly's good friend Kianna splashing about in the sea

As a photographer, I love capturing spontaneous and natural moments of wildlife. This image shows a sparrow in the midst of a refreshing bath. The movement and splashing water capture the liveliness and joy of the moment. It is this authenticity and the beauty of everyday life that I aim to capture through my lens.

An inca tern splashes down in the water at Living Coasts.

Taken with an old Canon FD 70-210 f/4 lens on my Sony NEX-6 - manual focus, so there's a lot of luck involved, but it worked out for this one!

A peaceful morning walk along the beach. Today I slowed things down and spent a lot more time just watching and experiencing what was going on around me. The seas were tame, and the tide was beginning to rise. As I’m sure you can imagine, there are very few people on the beach on a Tuesday morning in November which only added to my enjoyment.

I watched small gentle waves splash over this small concretion rock for several minutes before I framed up this composition. I really liked the softness of the splash patters created by the small waves.

Enjoy your day.

A splash of colour in this long exposure as the setting sun eventually decided to spread some colour amongst the grey. In a rush to change my location I placed my camera at an angle...hence the narrow crop. This is a 93 second exposure (I cut it short by mistake but I think it works well anyway)

52 Still Lifes: 14/52: Splash.

Un show!!!

Lime suspended by needle and thread. I forgot to take the setup shot before i already cleaned up. 1 Nikon Sb80dx with gel aimed at the background at 1/4th power, another Sb80dx aimed at the fruit at 1/32nd power. Fired by pocket wizards

Urban landscape study

1 valve - 3 drops - graduated background

At 1/80th of a second shutter speed, I didn't really 'freeze' the droplets, but it still gives a nice backdrop as these gulls rest on the rocks.

Enjoy!

Two dogs have a fun time splashing around in some sparkling seas.

The Splash grounds have been open to the public for a few days now, but are officially kicking things off TODAY, August 16th! Running until August 23rd, this event includes shopping, gifts, gaming, a performance by Geurilla Burlesque, and more!

Of course, I built an info spot for SWF in the shopping area as well. Pics of that soon! :)

If you visit one of Cambodia's floating villages, you will see colorful houses on stilts, long boats plying the waterways, and lots of kids playing in the water. It's not unusual to see children floating in tubs splashing water at each other. In fact, it's such a common sight that its almost become an iconic symbol of these villages.
