Visto che oggi le luci di viale Lungo Saline erano spente ne ho approfittato per fare qualche prova con lunghe esposizioni... qualcuno ha fatto la curva un po larga :)
Since today the street lights were out Lungo Saline I took the opportunity to do some testing with long exposures ... someone did a little wide curve :)

They are about 30m far away from me.
Brewery Road has long had problems drainage just outside the car park. For years it has been the one place guaranteed to have big puddles when it rains hard. With the recent run of flooding and rain, it was as bad as I expected this morning. Most people crawled through, but this was one of two cars that decided to charge through. As a pedestrian it's most unpleasant; I was glad I was standing well back.
Unfortunately this is very blurry due to it being dark (and rainy) and being shot on my phone. Perhaps I should claim it was deliberate to enhance the impression of speed and movement...

He went down the big kid slide and was a little unprepared for the speed. So was I. The only reason my hand is in this one... I was trying to catch him and missed. Kid went ::woosh:: right off the end and on to his tush. Good thing he's still in diapers.

here's a cut and paste from last years "halo" shot.....
from what i have read, the "halo" effect occurs at very high speeds when large amounts of air pressure (produced by the fast moving plane) causes the moisture in the air to spontaneously condense around the jet....causing the halo.
The jet was moving at over 650mph according to the show announcer. Panning along with these jets isnt easy...one of these days i will get a shot of this that i am 100% happy with....
Bombay, Mumbai - means different things to different people. But for me Mumbai is equivalent to speed. Life here is all about speed. Those who keep up with it, survive, as for those who are slow, get left behind. I mean look around you, someones running to catch the train, someones running to catch his bus, others are rushing to get to their places of work, children are rushing so that they dont get late, the works.
Clicked this atop the Marine drive flyover. Just wanted to capture the trailing lights, so shot on slow shutter speed. I am not completely satisfied with the result as i feel there is lot of noise in the image. Plus there has been a lot of fringing. So yeah, this isnt a perfect photograph, but i really love the motion in it.
I must say my wife named this one, while i was boring her with these results ;o) .
Ok some more water drop collisions, I have changed my setup somewhat and in that getting better results (I think so anyway).
Still not getting exactly what i want but with 1 flash i think i'm pretty close, next step... food colouring.
For this one I set up my new (home made) soft box directly behind the bottom water containter and improved on my drop setup to get a more stable flow.

I wanted to make a horizontally-oriented speeder after getting inspired by some others on here...I really like the look of it even if the colors aren't quite right. I'll probably keep developing this one.
More liquid nitrogen fun.
We had three old spotty bananas on the table. I grabbed a few and tried some frozen banana shots.
This was the best, the spots and the broken parts flying out looked good.
The garage will now smell of over ripe banana.
