I went down to Laguna Seca late last month to check out the Speed Ventures track day and Radical Sports car and EXR races. I took a bunch of photos digitally (to be posted shortly), but also brought along a new-to-me old film SLR; a Nikon F-801s. I thought this was supposed to AF with all of my Nikkor lenses, but it wouldn't work for me; so pardon some missed-focus shots; I had to do it manually. If R1 is in the image name, it was taken on Agfa Photo Vista 200; R2 was Ektar 100. Taken with one of the following lenses:
Nikon 24mm f/1.8G
Nikon 50mm f/1.8D
Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II
Nikon 300mm f/2.8 VR I
Most of these could be improved in Lightroom or whatever, and I may do that eventually, but I'm posting these raw scans as-is, because that was the point of shooting the film for me, and I'm spending plenty of time in LR for the digital photos anyway. ^_^
Amphetamine is a strong physical and mental stimulant available widely in both prescription and street forms. It is the standard against which all other stimulants are measured.
The street form is illegal in most country's.

Sound trigger, no delay
We lit up the fiber in the new building today and I ran a few tests. The fiber itself is 1 Gbps, but the limiter is the 100Mbps FastEthernet connector on the catalyst switch given to us by the state. I guess I can live with that. :)
They keep watching me.....
Strobist / setup
- A white plastic sheet is laid over a speaker.
- Black, water based paint drops are placed on the sheet.
- Sound is passed through the speaker via an ipod through a stereo. This causes the drops to dance.
- A modified HiViz sound trigger is used to fire two flashes.
- 2 - SB-800 flashes used, set to 1/32 power.
In the Monaco Grand-Prix Tunnel, the speed is limited (50 km/h) for you and me... but Formula 1 pilots reach here 300 km/h!

In January of 2016 I traveled to Peru to reunite with a few friends and circumnavigate Mt. Huascarán ‎6,768m (22,205 ft) by bicycle. The 20 day bikepacking trip started in the hot desert near Samanco and peaked at the Tunnel Punta Olimpica where we crossed at 16,000ft by bicycle. The tour brought us up close to some of the highest mountains in the country where we passed beneath glaciated peaks and alpine lakes. Sponsors: Julbo Eyewear, Perubybike
