As of March 1, 2016, speed limits have been increased on 11 different highways in central and eastern Oregon, including I-84 from the Idaho state line to The Dalles, and I-82 from the Washington state line to the junction of I-84. While the riders practice, I practice. Occasionally you’ll catch one at full speed but most times they’re about half speed. I don’t mind. It gives me a chance to figure out I need to move the trash can about 10 feet to the right. (You didn’t notice? You will now.)

These were used by track, signal, and communication maintenance personnel to get to remote locations along the railway, sometimes towing a trailer to hold tools and equipment.
My first ever air to air subject, the Speed Canard. Later in the day I flew in the backseat of this agile little aircraft.

Union of South Africa is a class A4 locomotive and sister of the famous Mallard.
