A neighborhood kid really wanted me to take photos of him riding his scooter, so I though it would be a great opportunity to try out panning.
Even though the background is a bit distracting, I really like the effect it adds for this kind of shot.

The newest addition to the @DetroitSpeedInc Test Car Family. The DSE 1965 Mustang joins the ever growing number of Test Cars in the DSE stable.
The Car: A 1965 Mustang that will be used as a test bed for new Detroit Speed products.
The Project: The Mustang will be used for testing the prototype Mini-Tub Kit for the rear and a bolt-on speed kit front suspension upgrade.

My grandfather's Speed Graphic. I believe this would be the Pacemaker model. He says that the shutter speed is a little off and needs adjustment. The whole thing is sort of intimidating...
Detroit Speed 1965 Chevelle Test Car. The car currently has the stock 327 4-barrel with a power glide transmission, but look for a new powerplant and driveline soon. This is a one owner car that we purchased in 2001. The Triumph Speed Triple is a series of motorcycles produced by Triumph Motorcycles. In 1994 the reborn Triumph became one of the earliest adopters of the new streetfighter style. This was essentially a modern sport bike or race replica motorcycle but without the aerodynamic plastic fairing.
Sound and Speed at Nashville Municipal Auditorium, where fans of racing and country music had the opportunity to get up-close and personal with drivers and top-name artists for autographs, story-telling, and question-and-answer sessions. This is the first try with a super simple stereo set-up.
It worked pretty well as far as I can tell.
Two Canon G6 cameras, one from Ebay, the other borrowed from a friend. Mounted on some aluminum flat stock, flipped. The two cameras are on uprights that are adjustable by means of some very powerful NIB magnets.
The exposure is a bit of a dance, time set to 4 seconds, press both shutters and then reach over and fire the rifle.
It worked both times. This was the second.
Microsecond stereo. Kind of cool.
qpkarl gets the blame for finally getting me to try it.
By the way, does anyone know if you can selectively allow access to higher resolution pictures on Flickr?
In other words, I would like to allow access to my high res files on some pictures, but not on others. As far as I can tell, it's all one way or another.
And animated .gif files. I'd like to include some, but can't quite get the rules.

August 27, 2018--New York City--Governor Andrew M. Cuomo signs an emergency Executive Order today allowing the operation of speed cameras to operating within New York State, and in particularly in New York City, that will go into effect September 4, 2018 which is one day before most schools open. The executive order permits the New York State. Department of Motor Vehicles to work in conjunction with law enforcement to issue tickets to registered vehicle owners who are caught on speed cameras for alleged speed violations. The Governor is joined by Chief Counsel Alphonso David, NYC Council Speaker Corey Johnson, and Amy Cohen, the founder of Families for Safe Streets.(Kevin Coughlin/State of New York)
