My only concern is the 8t gear that's attached to a technic half axle/pin, which occasionally slips off at higher speeds...

well, this was the one of the first tries to understand the shutter speed,

Scott Andrew Speed (born January 24, 1983) is an American race car driver. Formerly a driver for the Scuderia Toro Rosso F1 team, he made his Formula One race debut at the 2006 Bahrain Grand Prix, becoming the first American to race in F1 since Michael Andretti in 1993. He currently drives the #33 Chevrolet Impala for Kevin Harvick, Inc. in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

Desde el coche, aprovechando la decoración navideña de La Castellana... da cierta sensación de "velosidá", ¿no?

Cops doing handheld speed camera training right outside my work. Never seen the traffic so slow!

Speed in many ways is a movie that gets to the point. The poster tries the same. I hope I succeeded a little bit.

A few weeks ago at a garage sale I found one of those silly mini-animals that you put into water and let swell up to a billion times larger.

This one was a crab. It went from about 3 inches to about a foot.

It was too large to shoot as a whole critter, so I cut off the legs and tried a few shots.

This is a claw. One of these days I am going to have to figure out why red is such a problem in Lightroom.

I always seem to spend the most time trying to develop pictures with a lot of red in them.

Cheers.

Eigenlijk een beetje verrast door de trein (hoe is het mogelijk.....) en op goed geluk afgedrukt. In Lightroom een beetje met het histogram gespeeld om eens te kijken wat je er nog van kunt maken ;-)

While waiting on the station I was surprised by this raging train (how is it possible you would ask.....) and I pushed the button. I did a shuffle with the histogram in Lightroom and this was the result.

Goodwood Festival of Speed 2016

perfect timing. i had just made some speeders i never bothered to photograph until now. thats just the bare frame. i guess it could be worked into a speeder on its own. i put motorcycle frames on that center t-bar.

i think ive played too much fallout with adventure time in the background. how else did i end up building a peppermint robutler?

Another shot of stuff glued to a gelatin filled Christmas bulb.

I think that there is some sort of rule that if one skull is scary, seven are even more scary.

These are little taiga nut skulls from an old Burning Man project. I used to make up little copper wire and skull Burning Man skeletons on necklaces to give to people I met out on the playa.

I made up three more of these after the first two so that I could get a few more tries. This is a more controlled shot, less delay than the first shot.

Sometimes I wonder if I should allow a little more chance in these high speed pictures. Not aim as accurately, mess with delay more.

Another day maybe.

Cheers.

The Speed Graphic camera was considered to be THE Press camera of its day and were made between 1912-1973. They came with either a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch or 5 x 5 inch negative format and each negative was loaded seperately so the photographer had just one chance to get his shot (a far cry from todays cameras). This model probably dates from around 1950.

Day 15 - August 22 - 10.09pm

Usain Bolt prepares to pass the baton to Asafa Powell, who will run the anchor leg of Jamaica's world-record beating 4x100m Men's Relay.

The Jamaicans were so fast it's amazing they were able to do the changeovers properly - I felt sorry for the second leg runner who had to pass the baton to Bolt before he accelerated rapidly into the distance. Usual medal favourites USA and Great Britain weren't in the final after completely messing up their changeovers in the heats.
