This Gumpert Apollo Speed was doing a lot of laps during a Gold Track trackday on the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. This photo is taken at the entrance of the pitlane. The special thing about this car is that it is the special Apollo Speed but it has the rear spoiler and rearlights of a normal Apollo.
This is one of the first shots with my new Canon Eos 1000D, this photo is taken with my Canon EF 75-300 f/4-5.6 III lens.

Eigenlijk een beetje verrast door de trein (hoe is het mogelijk.....) en op goed geluk afgedrukt. In Lightroom een beetje met het histogram gespeeld om eens te kijken wat je er nog van kunt maken ;-)
While waiting on the station I was surprised by this raging train (how is it possible you would ask.....) and I pushed the button. I did a shuffle with the histogram in Lightroom and this was the result.
Pop quiz, hotshot. There's a bomb on a car. Once the car goes 50 miles an hour, the bomb is armed. If it drops below 50, it blows up. What do you do? What do you do?
A few weeks ago at a garage sale I found one of those silly mini-animals that you put into water and let swell up to a billion times larger.
This one was a crab. It went from about 3 inches to about a foot.
It was too large to shoot as a whole critter, so I cut off the legs and tried a few shots.
This is a claw. One of these days I am going to have to figure out why red is such a problem in Lightroom.
I always seem to spend the most time trying to develop pictures with a lot of red in them.

A candy-corn heart shatters under the impact of a pellet fired from a crappy 500fps pellet gun.
First test of the new and improved high speed flash system.
I also saw some rhubarb at the Whole Foods store. Celery didn't work too well, too mono-colored. But I had hopes for rhubarb.
I think it looks great. Nice color, good contrast.

A very rare 3 speed Foden Compound Road Locomotive, just before Pearn Brothers save it. Story goes the late George Winwood asked one of the Pearn's about it, went to get it himself a few days after and it was gone. Pearn's got it!
I believe its condemned with a thin crown sheet.

Grantham Station
Freightliner Class 66 66568 speeds south with a Doncaster-Felixstowe container train passing Class 91 91103 on a London King's Cross to Leeds train.

Something a bit different .. a few shots from my experiments in using flash at minimum power settings to capture high speed action.
I cannot afford fancy infrared triggers, so in each case the trigger was kitchen foil attatched by sync lead to the flash. All shots are taken in near darkness as the camera was on 4 sec exposure to allow time to trigger the airgun, drop the strawberry or hit the light bulb. At minimum power settings (1/128) my flash gives an exposure of around 1/41600 sec. The camera shutter speed setting (must be less than sync speed) has no influence for this type of photography.
The strawberry drop took 8 frames to get right, as I was up a ladder and had to achieve a clean strike on the spoon. For this the spoon is counterbalanced and the foil trigger is out of frame. Yeah lots of mess to clean up afterwards.
Some planets are not suitable for EM technology so hover tanks and EM stabilizers based aircrafts like KUNAIs are useless. So, old good wheels, wings, and reactors are still pretty common. The lance was once a CYGNUS Corp. prototype for land speeders but it suddenly disappeared. It reappeared a few months later a few parsecs away, attacking a rescue mission under Blacktron colours...
Blacktrons use LANCEs to be first on interesting sites. These vehicles carrie two automatic gatlings turrets and a laser boosted 90mm cannon.
