A small hunk of string cheese being hit by a rubber ball.
I have been going through one of those everything going wrong in the high speed photo area.
A complete rebuild of the flash head, down to the wires. The ozone and UV from these things is epic and destroys all forms of insulation like a blast from a supernova, although with less planetary consequences. :-)
The projectile sensor on the Axe is doing funny stuff, so I went back to the old school setup. The devil that I know.....
Cheers.
This is the bulk of my Speed Racer collection. I have a couple of unbuilt model kits in the basement.

Anniversary Speed Graphic circa 1940-46. My first true large 4x5 format camera. All black unit with Vulcanoid case (pretty solid) & Kallart Synchro Rangefinder. Also with Heiland Flash (not Luke Skywalkers's). With 250mm Wollensak f5.6 with Rapax shutter. DIY lens board. Weighed in at around 5kgs including the film holder and flash unit. It still looks like it will last another 70 years.

Hi everyone,
Do you like this shot?
This is the railway of the Funicular Como-Brunate, taken during the ride way down to get back to Como.
I really like this shot, specially the sense of speed it gives and the red color lights in fusion with the black railway line.
How fast do you think it is going?

Beach Drive, Cape May NJ
Looking towards a hazy golden sunset (towards the Cove beach) and through an active water sprinkler, the glistening drops racing by.
When I rule the Earth, this is the kind of crap you're going to have to put up with, "math anxiety" be dammed.
I am trying to become more familiar with large format. That means some experimentation. Taken with a tilt/shift modified speed graphic.
Incredibly fun with the details you get on these negatives. But frustrating with all the dust and scratches. Have something to learn adout accuracy :)

Ogni volta che vedo un adulto in bicicletta penso che per la razza umana ci sia ancora speranza. (Herbert George Wells).
Before the land speeder Tornado model went on sale, I built one for my army of marines.
The model is constructed with the landspeeder kit, parts of a landraider and a vindicator, a launcher of an exterminator, and the torsos of two Space Marine scouts.
The effect of rust and burnt parts is made with pigments.
The most modern bike I've ever owned.
A stout 98 horsepower that you don't have to rev to the moon to get to.
Six pot brakes.
A definite keeper.
This is more of a modification as opposed to a MOC. I took the original Lego official set "75901 Flash Speeder" and modified the rear to remove the awful stud shooters and rework the cannon. The Lego original was a solid and well-designed set however. I wish I would have picked up a few more of them while they were plentiful.
