Taken on the Lincoln World Wide Photo Walk. We were asked to look out for Green, Speed and Pairs. Two out of three in one shot can't be bad?
C-GOGA, a DHC-6 Twin Otter from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources taxis at high speed in Quetico Provincial Park.
I worked for the MNR that summer, and asked the pilot to head right for the dock, 'fast and with lots of spray'. Mission accomplished.
Taken with a Canon EOS Elan and a 100-300 lens on Ektacolor Gold film, scanned with a Nikon Coolscan.
Not fast enough...
At 670,616,629 miles per hour (mph), or around 186,282 miles per second, I can’t get this ship to go any faster. The propulsion system has plenty of power left in it. It’s like something is holding us back.

Have you ever shot with both hands? Well I did.
One hand to fire the gun and the other to fire the camera! Completely hand held, manual focus and manual shot too :)
This is a foam gun bullet and it does travel at some speed. Had to use flash to capture it without too much blur.
Back drop was a black cloth. Reflection is thanks to a black reflecting table glass. Minor fixes done to make it complete black.
Speed has a limit ...drive safe..

My only concern is the 8t gear that's attached to a technic half axle/pin, which occasionally slips off at higher speeds...

Eigenlijk een beetje verrast door de trein (hoe is het mogelijk.....) en op goed geluk afgedrukt. In Lightroom een beetje met het histogram gespeeld om eens te kijken wat je er nog van kunt maken ;-)
While waiting on the station I was surprised by this raging train (how is it possible you would ask.....) and I pushed the button. I did a shuffle with the histogram in Lightroom and this was the result.
Not the coolest of photos, but good enough to upload.

The exposure was kind of wonky (light/dark was kind of extreme) so I had to process it more than usual.

I went down to Laguna Seca late last month to check out the Speed Ventures track day and Radical Sports car and EXR races. I took a bunch of photos digitally (to be posted shortly), but also brought along a new-to-me old film SLR; a Nikon F-801s. I thought this was supposed to AF with all of my Nikkor lenses, but it wouldn't work for me; so pardon some missed-focus shots; I had to do it manually. If R1 is in the image name, it was taken on Agfa Photo Vista 200; R2 was Ektar 100. Taken with one of the following lenses:
Nikon 24mm f/1.8G
Nikon 50mm f/1.8D
Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II
Nikon 300mm f/2.8 VR I
Most of these could be improved in Lightroom or whatever, and I may do that eventually, but I'm posting these raw scans as-is, because that was the point of shooting the film for me, and I'm spending plenty of time in LR for the digital photos anyway. ^_^
I think every high speed photographer inspired by this classic and iconic photo by H. Edgerton. It was always one of my dream shots to realize.
I'm quite relieved to achieve this after 3 hrs, many cards and some 25 high powered rifle rounds :)
perfect timing. i had just made some speeders i never bothered to photograph until now. thats just the bare frame. i guess it could be worked into a speeder on its own. i put motorcycle frames on that center t-bar.
i think ive played too much fallout with adventure time in the background. how else did i end up building a peppermint robutler?
