I haven't been on Flickr much lately and neither have I used my camera much. Maybe I just need to re-charge my own batteries without work and other "must".
This image felt soothing to me, taken outside Guelph, Canada last year. I have soften the image quite a bit by reducing the clarity. Have a lovely weekend whatever you are and enjoy!

The evening of the last day of calendar summer we have spent at Elk Island.. Regardless of the sun, it was cold and the wind did not help a bit. It is sad to say good bye to summer, especially if it passes by so quickly you hardly know it was there, even with the heat we have experienced this year... No help for it, though. Time flies.. Let's hope for a nice long fall this year.. ;D
Espero que ainda não estejam fartos desta paisagem, porque não me canso dela :) E é este tipo de estado de espírito que desejo para a semana
I hope you're not sick of this palce yet, since I can't seem to quite get enough :) That's the state of mind I wish for the week
Hear: - the gentle white noise of a little waterfall, with the chirping of small birds and occasional duck quacking while the wind rustles through the trees
See: - a slow moving water-course, and the soft movement of this mini waterfall
Feel: - the soft grass underfoot, moist from the previous days spring showers, full of life and energy of the earth
Taste: - the sugarfree winter-mint gum in my mouth.. nom-nom-nom...
it's like relaxation, for ALL of your senses!
So simple but with no real focal points these types of pics are pretty boring even if the sunset colours are pretty. I really like the smooth silky motion effect..
«Μαλακτικό το φως του Οκτωβρίου.
Το πίνω. Αργά αργά.
Ανακατεύοντάς το συνεχώς
προσεκτικά και αργά.
Μη και χυθεί σταγόνα
από την αίσθηση πως ζω,
που την πίνω αργά αργά
σ' ένα πολύ ρηχό φλιτζάνι.
Πολύ ρηχό φλιτζάνι
το φως του Οκτωβρίου.»

«Soothing October light.
I drink it. Bit by bit.
Stirring it constantly
carefully and slowly.
Avoiding to spill even a drop
from the feeling that I live,
which I drink unhurriedly
in a very shallow cup.
October light
is a very shallow cup.»
(Kiki Dimoula, "Sublight")
I could hear it calling to me from the trail...I had to find it. Now it is barely more than a gently flowing stream, but during the spring melt it is a raging torrent. I couldn't resist, I had to take my hiking boots off and cool my feet, and while I was there walk to the middle and snap a few shots.
Shot with my 1964 Carl Zeiss Jena Pancolar 50mm F/1.8 rare 8 aperture blade version.
This East German Zeiss was manufactured until 1991 and was usually found attached to Praktikas via the M42 mount.
This lens was produced with rare-earth compounds containing lanthanum are extensively used in carbon lighting applications, especially by the motion picture industry for studio lighting and projection. Lanthanum (III) oxide is used in some camera lenses. It’s added to reduce dispersion and improve the clarity of images.

One of the ex-battery hens we rescued in June is very slow to grow new feathers. Her 3 companions are now your regular, fluffy, hens; she looks pretty much oven-ready still 😂 Despite a good diet, with lots of protein, much of the skin on her thighs & rear end is bare & sore looking. With the hot weather I wouldn't be surprised if she hasn't a little sunburn too. So after reading up on Little Hill Animal Rescue website what to do, I invested in this tub of antiseptic healing cream called Sudocrem. I last used it 26+ years ago when my kids were in nappies (diapers), it's great for nappy rash.
In the first comment box below is a short video I took of the hens not long after we rescued them from a life in tiny battery cages.
Life has been busy this past week & I hadn't taken a photo for Saturday Self Challenge theme "Something White" but I thought I'd give this shot a go. Also for my own group Square Format.
Waiting for sunrise takes a lot of patience for me. I am not known as the most patient person in the world, so setting up a composition and standing there for a long time can be challenging. When I begin to feel impatient, I take a deep breath to relax and realize that I am standing in front of a beautiful landscape that I should absorb. There is a silence and tranquility present that soothes your soul if you let it in. I realize that many people would trade places with me in a heartbeat. These thoughts help me relax and results in a better photograph.
As I re-examine the scene, I see the blue and purple hues of the civil twilight coming through. I also notice that the light from the sky, coupled with light from a nearby building, is giving the top of the boats a subtle glow. Checking my settings, I take the photo and, because of the lack of light, the shutter stays on for 30 seconds. This causes two thing that I love. First, the ever present boat moored away from the dock takes on a ghostly look. Second, I see the red tail lights of a couple of cars in the distance that adds a bit of interest above the boats. I wish I had planned that but I will take it.
Winter Aug 2017, Sunset on Palm Beach, Sydnet. Every sunset is unique, this one was calm and soothing.
Soothing myself on this cold, grey day with a cup of tea, and a snuggle on the couch with my best little gal and a Jataka tale.

I thought I would post two simple photos that I thought was a nice break from my wedding shots. Probably more just for me than you. I will not be on this weekend so I bid you a ....Super Fantastic, joyful, smilely weekend. Live each day as your last. You just never know. Blessings, Andrea
