Low tide at Mont Saint Michel, Normandy, France.

Dreamy sand bars and tidal pools as far as the eye can see.

Our road trip through Europe took us to places we never expected. We spend the night here and let the rushing waters soothe our minds.

One of my 2 golden retrievers likes to steal the soothers from my 2 years old and act like a baby for about 1/2 an hour before destroying it... no photoshop on the dog and soother, just some soft vignetting...

This is our first visit to Maroon Bells definitely not going to be the last. The pictures simply don’t do the justice to these most photographed place in Colorado. Love to visit them in Fall to enjoy the colorful scene as Aspen trees transition from green to gold, with snow covered peaks.

The current crisis shows us clearly that we are not all-mighty despite all our knowledge and technology. We have to respect nature and should try our best not mess up the climate.

Smokey was sort of snorty at an ATV that just came to the ranch for an event, and he hadn't really seen it in action before

This is the last night's sunset in HDR! It was a hot day somewhere in 90's and a bit hazy and it worked out pretty good for the sunset! It was a great time in this concrete boat... lol. It is the observation deck at Liberty park right by Pepsi Amphitheater. I think this may be my best handheld HDR to date as far as clarity and sharpness goes... lol I have a tripod now but I'm too lazy to carry it from my car most of the time. Last night's sunset was so soothing! I left the lens flare for added touch. Let me know what you guys think...

Down for a hike by Dave’s father’s place. Ice is melting away every day.

A soothing long exposure of the crashing waves of Bandon, Oregon during an overcast sunset overlooking the distant dramatic sea stacks. A few times, the low tide surprised me, when I was in the zone taking photographs, by coming up to my feet and jostling my tripod.

Diners at a 'under the electric pole' restaurant in Lahore. You may have a cup of soothing hot tea after the main course of spicy 'chicken tikka'. A cosy treat in a wintry night like this. And if the weather is wet, you'll have a chance to electric charge your nerves just by getting closer to the 11 thousand volt transmission line pole; but it cant' be guaranteed if you'll be able to walk away on your own ;)

The lively city of Lahore is known for its love of food and night life. You find all sorts of food shops, restaurants, road side BBQ grills and street hawkers everywhere. From expensive dine - in restaurants to a cart deployed on footpath under an electrical post, there is satisfaction for every taste and pocket. A shocking delight not to miss ;)

Surely there is something in the unruffled calm of nature that overawes our little anxieties and doubts; the sight of the deep-blue sky and the clustering stars above seems to impart a quiet to the mind.

Happy Easter Sunday, everyone!

All three photos posted this morning were taken yesterday, 26 March 2016, when I spent a long day driving NW of the city and then coming home via Bragg Creek and SW of the city. It was such a beautiful day and, once again, there was snow in the forecast for this coming week, so I thought I had better make the most of the good weather.

When I first reached my approximate destination yesterday morning, I could see five or six cars way down the road, pulled over at the edge of the road. Often a good sign : ) Sure enough, friends had found a Great Gray Owl. For the first four minutes after I got there, the owl was perched on a barbed-wire fence in the sun, but then flew off and vanished. More than an hour later, someone saw it fly across the road and land in the distant trees. Had to look almost into the sun to get photos, so most of my images are grainy, but still happy to get them. The way these owls focus on something is amazing - they use their hearing rather than their sight. It sat there for maybe 45 minutes, barely moving except for turning its head, so not a huge variety of shots, but interesting to watch in person. When it disappeared further into the trees and out of sight, I started off on my long drive home, hoping to see a few early bird spring arrivals. I was out of luck, apart from a pair of Killdeer. Not a single Mountain Bluebird, anywhere, which did surprise me.

I always enjoy driving the particular stretch of road seen in this photo. I love the emptiness, simplicity and colours at this time of year. I did notice a pair of extremely far away birds circling high in the sky - you can just about see one of them. Couldn't tell if they were Ravens or Hawks. Ha, there are small, black spots on a few photos taken further down the road, but they are bees! I can't say I enjoyed photographing "The Famous Five" with bees flying around me and my camera and the car - from the group of hives by the granaries.

A nine-hour day, 291 kilometers driven, sunshine and an owl - it was an enjoyable day. The only part I didn't like was getting up very early but still not getting out till four hours later! Always a big mistake to turn on my computer if I want to get out really early!

Soothing Scottish Beauty - i like the sense of calm here

I haven't been on Flickr much lately and neither have I used my camera much. Maybe I just need to re-charge my own batteries without work and other "must".

This image felt soothing to me, taken outside Guelph, Canada last year. I have soften the image quite a bit by reducing the clarity. Have a lovely weekend whatever you are and enjoy!
