Sunset reflection in a pond/lake found in Chatham County Wetlands Preserve.
This spot was quite tricky because of the large radio/cell tower just to the left of frame (you can make out some of the wires on the left side of the image). The clouds behind the tower were certainly photo worthy, but the tower dominated the scene and made for poor images. This was the best of this shot on that evening.
Well, I hope you like it.

Blue hour at the Grand Mosque. I came early so I had a chance to see this beautiful architecture before and after dark.
It was somewhat brisky so the the reflections are wavy but I like it like that..
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is located in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, and is considered to be the key site for worship in the country.
This architectural work of art is one the world’s largest mosques, with a capacity for an astonishing 40,000 worshippers. It features 82 domes, over a 1,000 columns, 24 carat gold gilded chandeliers and the world's largest hand knotted carpet. The main prayer hall is dominated by one of the world’s largest chandeliers –10 metres in diameter, 15 metres in height and weighing twelve tonnes. The mosque's first ceremony was the funeral of its namesake, Sheikh Zayed, who is buried at the site.

Green River, Kanasket-Palmer State Park, Washington
I was unable to hike again this weekend but my mind and my soul were in need of some nature so I ventured out to a nearby state park, located on a beautiful stretch of the Green River. And there, as I sat in solitude on a rock, and immersed myself in the sight and sound of the river, I found what I was seeking. The endless flow of the river soothed and softened the sharp edges of the mind and restored the pieces of the soul that the world seems to wear away.

I know, I do have a corny title, but that's what happens when you can't think about any. So suggestions are welcome. It was by the same lake as the previous picture toward the end of the day... these grass were moving from the gentle breeze and I knew it was time to head back. (I have taken quite a few pics which I suddenly ran into in my storage, so sorry to bore you with same/similar stuff)
The simple life on the farm was everything to me. Nothing was more relaxing after a long plane flight than to reach the winding driveway that led up to my house. The quiet of the night was more soothing than a sleeping pill. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

The sound of water dancing over moss covered rocks is beyond soothing. When we visited the Hawaiian Tropical Bioreserve and Gardens on the Big Island of Hawaii I found myself wanting to take a seat and soak up all the peace and quiet.

It's been a bit since I've posted an image, not for lack of photos to post, but more a lack of inspiration for something to say about them. Usually as I look through my images, there is something that jumps out and says "post me, post me!" and the words flow from there, but lately there has been only silence. Until earlier today, as I was revisiting some of last year's images from Hawai’i, in anticipation of a return to my beloved islands later this summer. Then, the sea spoke...

An dem Morgen, als dieses Foto entstand, gab es zwei zwei unterschiedliche Beschäftigungen bei den Gänsen auf dem See. Da war zum einen die Gruppe der Eltern, diese waren emsig unterwegs um ihre kleinen Racker an Stellen zu führen wo es etwas zu futtern gibt. Zum anderen gab es die offensichtlich Kinderlosen. Die erkannte man daran, dass sie mit so wenig Aufwand wie möglich auf dem See herumtrieben und wohl einfach nur das gute Wetter genossen. Zu dieser zweiten Gruppe gehört die Gans auf dem Bild. Zu welcher Gruppe willst Du gerade lieber gehören? 😇
Tech. Details: Auf der anderen Seite vom See stehen Bäume, die das Licht der tiefstehenden Morgensonne abhängig von Aufnahmewinkel und dem Unterschied zwischen Licht und Schatten im Hintergrund gelb bis orange bzw. grün bis blau spiegelten. Ich musste nur darauf achten, dass die Farbe im Hintergrund jeweils nicht wechselt (z.B. von links gelb nach rechts grün).
Um das Bild besonders detailreich sehen zu können, drückt die Tasten l (kleines L) und F11. Beim vergrößern nur durch Anklicken gehen euch viele Details verloren.
On the morning this photo was taken, there were two different things the geese were doing on the lake. On the one hand there was the group of parents, who were busy taking their little goslings to places where there was something to eat. On the other hand, there were the obviously childless. You could recognize them by the fact that they floated around on the lake with as little effort as possible and were probably just enjoying the good weather. The goose in the picture belongs to this second group. Which group do you want to belong to? 😇
Tech. detail: On the opposite side of the lake there are trees that reflected the early morning light in a range of beautiful colours. I got yellow to orange and green to blue colours in the water depending on the angle and whether the background was either in the light or in the shade. I just had to make sure that the color in the background didn't change (e.g. from yellow on the left to green on the right).

Just another beautiful day at the end of a hike. At this point it was time to sit, have a drink and yes, drink it all in. The greenery, the blue water, the gentle curves and shapes, all are soothing to the eyes. This is toward the end of the trail in Smuggler Cove.
