Members of the House and Senate listen intently as the president outlines his vision on immigration reform, insisting that Congress compromise and pass a bill agreeable to all parties. The Congressional Simulation Exercise on April 4 was designed to give about 150 West Point cadets in the SS202 and SS252 (American Politics) courses a hands-on, real-world simulation of government in action. Participants absorb the role of legislators, journalist, lobbyists and presidential advisers in a daylong capstone exercise to see who can best use political capital to create the best outcome for their group.

Baby Luv will have you falling in love with the cutest baby you'll ever see! Play hide and seek, feed and take care of her. Experience the joys of her first steps, her first words, first laugh and all of the fun of baby's first year.

So I wrote a gravity simulator (no reason other than "because I can")... And it seemed to be working good, stuff at the right velocity with the right mass will fall into an elliptical orbit around something heavy, blah blah.

So I decided to add another something heavy and make an infinity sign. This is 50,000 or 100,000 particles starting from the same point at different times with different velocities. I was just trying to zero in on what one needs for that figure eight but I thought it was cool :-)

Lt. Amanda Nieves runs a pressure test on the eye of Cmdr. Ian Uber during the Simulation Training for Operational Medicine Providers (STOMP) program at the Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) Portsmouth Healthcare Simulation and Bioskills Training Center, April 10 and 11, 2023. Forty prospective general medical officers (GMOs) completed the course to prepare them for independent operational practice through exercises in orthopedics, general surgery, podiatry, ophthalmology and more.

The Simulation center developed the STOMP Program in 2015 to strengthen the knowledge and skills of graduating GMOs. The program involves the ability to learn, practice and demonstrate patient care skills that will be necessary to function as an independent practitioner in an operational environment.

The simulation center provides state of the art simulation based medical training for the United States Armed Forces, as well as supporting the local medical community. Since the center’s inception in February 2006, it has trained more than 36,000 DoD and civilian health care professionals and expanded its capabilities utilizing over 50 different medical simulators. From the basic IV training arm simulators to the latest in three dimensional virtual simulations, NMCP’s health care simulation center has remained on the cutting edge of medical modeling and simulation. On July 9, 2013, local Red Cross workers as well as workers with National Headquarters and the Toyota Production System Support Center participated in a simulation to test the new Red Cross volunteer intake protocol following disasters. This project will make the registration process more efficient and convenient for event-based volunteers who want help but do not have previous Red Cross training.

The interface between a sunspot's umbra (dark center) and penumbra (lighter outer region) shows a complex structure with narrow, almost horizontal (lighter to white) filaments embedded in a background having a more vertical magnetic field. Farther out, extended patches of horizontal field dominate. NCAR scientists and colleagues modeled this complex structure in a 3D computer simulation, giving scientists their first glimpse below the visible surface to understand the underlying physical processes.
