Boids was an artificial life simulation where you'd have several artificial birds ("boids") and they'd each follow a very simple formula.
1) head towards the center of the group
2) go in the same direction the group is going
3) avoid crashing into group members
And taken together, they'd act like a real flock. So I wrote a quick boids program to further my DirectX education. :-) I think my boids need a bit more work to make them flock more realistically. :-) But hey, they fly, they react! And the artwork is all mine (check out the fancy clouds scrolling at different speeds, ooh, ahh!)
I just stole a wav file off the internet to figure out how to add sound to a DirectX program. :-)
This photograph was edited from my Extar Proton for ordering of the next frame.
I will order a new frame to Amanda Sports, who is one of the famous Japanese custom frame builder.
