An image to conjure up thoughts of all the fun of the seaside complete with piers, amusement arcades and fish and chips. Here we see the sign above Felixstowe Pier's main entrance as photographed in May 2013.
New road signs have been introduced in the Netherlands since mid-2012 with a white border near the edge of the signs to make them better visible for color blind people.
I'm still amazed at how quick Mother Nature changed gears. To recap what I said in my last photo, one week was the difference between 0°F and a deep snow cover to 50°F and plants growing and insects appearing.
This photo is a great example of just that. I found this Lady Bug walking around by my pond. That's a great sight regardless, because I haven't seen a true Lady Bug in years. In the background you can see some of my Lilies starting to grow. Yesterday, I was also surprised to see one of the Bullfrogs that hibernated in my pond. The pond is mostly frozen over but has thawed around the edges so it had just enough room to pop up and get some sun. It was a great sight to see.

One of my honey signs - perched in a hay-loft entrance. For hive design officianados it's a a WBC, the old English double walled hive with tapered lifts and porch - rarely used any more but very decorative
Had a nice walk up the chase today and the Autumn colours are starting to show, although in this scene only one tree seems to have changed its colour.
I walk the dog in the Chase quite regular and pass this spot on most visits, I don't know why but on this occasion it looked just right, and will probably get better, I will be back.
Where Andrew Malcolm and Margaret Cowie (my great great great grandparents) and various McIntyres and Findlays lived at the start of the 20th century (after the Malcolms had left Bogfon).
Port of Tyne Warning Sign at night. Taken with a piece of shit Holga which I've only just used for the first time in 5 years of ownership and I'll possibly never use again. Unless someone can convince me otherwise. Maybe it'll grow on me...

Vintage 1960s Safeway store at 1500 Solano Ave., Albany, CA
Currently investigating the future status of this store, as I found a 2005 article in which Safeway wished to tear down this store and build a new development, with a new store and condos...
PLEASE
I guess ... aw, what the heck. It's TRIVIA TIME. I'll give ... a hardcover copy of JRR Tokien's Silmarillion to whoever can tell me exactly where this sign is.
I drove to Cincinnati a couple of weeks ago, partly because I'd never been there, but more importantly, to visit the American Sign Museum. The museum shares a large building filled with artists' studios. Outside you're greeted by this poor sod with no hands.
